If Turner somehow “slips” down the board & available @ 14, I’d pick him.

We need more young, talented edge rushers.

There will be a quality OL available @ 45 (Day 2).

This is arguably one of the most pivotal drafts in recent history.

New offensive regime.

We have clear needs an old roster and no picks in the 3rd or 4th round.

Can't wait to see who falls to 14, IF we stay at 45 and WHEN we trade any number of those 5th round picks.

Well said 76. This draft is crucial and we don't have a pick in the third or fourth round. It's going to be challenging for ML to come out with several starters/role players.

It's the Dennis Allen effect, certainly. Many fans think that it doesn't matter who the Saints pick, Allen aint the guy to get this team to the Superbowl. I'm no fan of DA but I am eager to see what happens over the next few days. :bng:

I had a dream/nightmare last night we drafted some 7'1" basketball convert and used him at HB/FB. We ran a sweep near the goalline and he hurt himself leaning over to get the low pitch.

That pretty much sums up my skepticism about Loomis and DA and my lack of certainty about what Kubiak will really do.

The loss of yet another lineman (Hurst) decimates what we have left to play this season. With the loss of yet another OL, short of a miraculous draft and
picking up help in free agency, are we even able to field a team capable of being competitive?

I hate it, but without a gut and rebuild from the ground up what chances do we have this year?

I believe the Saints chances aren't as bad as you surmise. There's a lot of talent on this team and I have a lot more confidence in Kubiak than I had in Carmichael.
Regardless, I'm looking forward to some good draft picks and hopefully some good players in free agency.

Not a bad move for a player like that, and only 200 point difference. Only thing is is where are we gonna get it from without a third or fourth rounder? Maybe package a 2025 third? I’d hate to use our first and second this year unles we get a player along with that 10 spot from the Jets

I agree. It looks like it should be one of those positions, maybe a CB. There are a lot of great CB's still left.

If DA actually had input on the 1st pick I have to give him credit because we had our pick of any defensive player in the draft and he we still went offense. Had to be gard to turn that down.

True, but they did spend the first two picks on defense last year with Bresee and Foskey.

I might be in the minority but I don't think that WR is a big position of need. Both lines should be addressed as well as the secondary before WR.

It won't surprise me to see us pick another O lineman in the fifth round to help give us better depth along the line. Right now, we don't know much about how the rest of the line shakes out with Penning, and Ram and we need to do better than we did last year protecting our QB and opening holes for the running backs to at least make the line of scrimmage before getting hit.
