Which CURRENT Saints players do you think have a chance to be inducted into the team's Ring of Honor after they retire?

Good question here ...

Which CURRENT #Saints players do you think have a chance to be inducted into the team's Ring of Honor after they retire?

Personally I only see one current player with a good chance of making it to the Ring of Honor. Cam Jordan!

This, by the way, is pretty cool!

Cam would be it. My .02 is no else is even close. Not because he is one the best of all time, but its just that no one should/could even be considered.

Demario Davis might have an outside shot.
Chris Olave is still early in his career but if he keeps playing like he has he might have a chance.

I was thinking the same about Davis. He easily has another three or four years of high caliber play left and his personal impact on the team's dynamics could come into play. Still, no sure for the RoH level recognition. As for Olave, his whole career is in front of him. No telling. Good call on that one. I hadn't even considered anyone else but that could be plausible.

With Derek Carr at the helm, Olave will be irrelevant.

Just keep the sinner guy set to IGNORE, and adults talking about facts won’t keep you guessing.

Cam Jordan, the iron man, is a shoe in. DeMario has a good shot too. Maybe AK, but he was criminally underused the last two years.

Oh, and as a long shot, I'm going with Dallin Holker!

Thanks Rugby Saint. I do my best to talk only about my Saints, even though admittedly, over the last two years, it’s been mostly negative. That’s on the Saints, not me. Some others can help but talk about me. This is not about me.

I agree on Cam Jordan.

Honestly Will Smith is only on the list because he was a good but not great player who got murdered. Sam Mills should probably be on the list anyway, but his personal tragedy may also have expedited the matter, like if Wayne Martin or Pat Swilling had a similar tragedy instead they might have been inducted before Mills even though they were slightly less productive, and if Mills had some off the field issues instead of great character he might have been left off.

I think there are many players who could thus be inducted at Will Smith level if some tragedy befalls them (or if they have a great later career I guess): Davis, Mathieu, Kamara, McCoy, Olave, Lattimore, etc. Davis's play could justify it if he continues. Mathieu is a local favorite and his time at LSU and other teams could factor in.

Jimmy Graham is not 100% a current player but did play last year. He likes to fly planes and do extreme sports in the arctic and had a somewhat unexplained seizure issue walking in traffic unaware of himself. He also took some big hits that could be a risk for CTE. Graham is also very tall, and very tall people tend to have more heart issues. I think its safe to say that Graham is taking risks and has risk factors that could put him at risk of not living out his golden years unfortunately. For a number of reasons, one might expect players like Brees and Colston to outlive Graham. I think that if Graham did suffer an untimely and possibly dramatic death due to accident or illness along these lines, he would almost certainly be inducted like Will Smith.

Lattimore I would have to agree.

Ramcyzk. You're probably right. His % of snaps played is incredible. Between 95-100% each season.

Of his 6,500 snaps played, only 22 called penalties. Dang.

AK was criminally underused... I see what you did there. Freudian slip? ;)

Jordan and Davis are locks. Hill would be a popular pick. McCoy will be a future candidate partly because I think he will be a Saints for his whole career.

Not sure they are locks. Only seven persons in the history of the franchise are a part of the Ring of Honor. There is a Saints Hall of Fame which is much more inclusive that better meets the parameters you set forth.

The only "shoe in" I can think of current or retired is Drew Brees. Cam and Demario would be locks for the Saints HOF, but I think only Jordan has a fighting chance at the Ring. A bounce back year or two could do it, however.

Then again, when Loomis and Dennis Allen team up for their five Lombardi's they'll have a chance of joining Mr. Benson as non-players as part of the RoH. ;)

No Taysom Hill!?

Only the second NFL player IN LEAGUE HISTORY to record 25 rushing touchdowns, 10 touchdown passes and 10 touchdown receptions. Drop those totals to 10 of each and he and Gifford are joined by ONLY 3 others. Jimmy Conzelman (13 rushing, 11 receiving, 10 passing, from 1920-29) , Red Grange (21 rushing, 10 receiving, 10 passing, from 1925-34) and Charley Trippi (23 rushing, 11 receiving, 16 passing, from 1957-55), all Hall of Famers in their own right.

If being 1 of 5 players to "Be In That Number" after over 100 years of players doesn't merit ANY "Ring Of Honor" I don't know what does!
