The thing Penning does well here is putting himself in a good position and then anchoring and standing his ground and then flipping his hips and driving Clowney upfield and away from the QB. A lot of his problems before has been frantically backpeddeling while being too high and with a narrow base just being pushed straight back into the QB. Only one play but that is encouraging. |

Downfield blocking by the WR's is a key component to the success of the Shanahan/Kubiak offensive scheme.

One of my favourite images from the game, was when Carr threw the TD to Moreau - when he ran to the sideline, Olave was absolutely beaming with joy and laughing when Carr was celebrating with Demario.
I know it's only the panthers, but it's HOW we won. The offensive scheme looked lightyears ahead of anything we've seen. We had balance, effective running and passing game. Grupe hit all his kicks. Punt block and an almost punt return TD. Defense put Bryce in his place. Great team effort. The Dallas game won't be as easy, but if they play like that, we have a chance. |
