NFL Bias showing
So it is already happening. I’m watching the morning show on the NFL network and their blatant favoritism is on full display.
First thing they do is cover the Rams/Lions game. Now this was obviously a nationally televised game in a prime time slot…Probably the most watched game of yesterday. So, what does the NFL do? They proceeded to spend about 10 minutes showing highlights of a game that most fans watched live. They then proceeded to spend about another 15 minutes analyzing and talking about the game with a fine-toothed comb. They then switch to about three minutes showing maybe four plays of highlights of a “lesser” game (Atl/Pitt I think) with no in studio commentary, and then proceed to show 10 minutes of Dallas highlights with in-studio breakdowns of the Cowboys’ performance. The league bias for certain teams/cities is disgusting. Rant over. Now six days to savor the win. |
Re: NFL Bias showing
The end of the 4th quarter was a large dose of Deja Vu. Same score! Almost the same field position, and Detroit heading in the same direction. Totally enjoyed the looks on the Rams players faces after the Lions DROVE the ball down their throats for the W!! To quote Sean Mcay............"I saw nothing wrong with the play." Hurts, don't it? "Sean"
On a side note: How come Alex Anzalone couldn't stay healthy when he was a Saint? He's only missed 3 games as a Lion and in 4 years with the Saints only played 16 games 2 of his 4 years. |

Just like a parent who says: "But I love all of my kids equally."
You KNOW who the favorite sibling is! Nothing new. Just roll with it. |
Re: NFL Bias showing
The Saints will be all the talk when they smoke the Cowpukes. :)

Re: NFL Bias showing
These are smart people producing and directing these shows and they know what the consumer wants to see and trust me Carolina vs Saints ain’t it. That’s good though, stay under the radar. As we have seen in the past winning will bring the reward of popularity, if you consider that a reward. Forget the pundits, enjoy the win yesterday and talk s__t to whoever for at least one week. Lol

And believe me, I can understand the under the radar approach and I pretty much agree with it. I’m not wanting to go out and shout about my team until they win it all. It’s just a dishonest thing they do and I wish they would admit it. The NFL should say “hey, we as a league promote and pull for Dallas, the Niners, the Rams, and KC”. I’d respect that more than them acting like it’s a equal footing league when we damn well know it’s not. A 10-year-old kid watching these highlights isn’t going to want to see Dallas highlights over Saints highlights. But when a 10-year-old kid sees five times as much Dallas highlights then he does Saints highlights from games in which both teams performed very well then it’s much more likely they are going to grow up a Dallas fan. That type of behavior sickens me from national coverage |

You're simply not going to get any "headlines" beating up on the Kittens.
Now if you go out there and fold up the Cows on Sunday ... a different story, then even more attention heading into week 3 vs the Feagles. |

The Saints are literally the Washington Generals in the national media world. Their only purpose is to serve as backdrop for the higher profile teams they actually want to talk about. Saw it today. 3 minute segment on ESPN showing the Saints stomping the Kitties out. Did they talk about the new offense, the productive defense, or the Saints scoring on each of their first 9 drives. Of course not. They talked about how the Carolina organization has done a disservice to Bryce Young by not having their team prepared to play. You have to just laugh because it's so obvious and pitiful. Just remember that when the Saints won the SuperBowl in 2009, the next day they wanted to turn the page to next season, the draft, and who was most likely to win in 2010. And the Saints of course were not at the top of that list. It's a joke. SFIAH |
Re: NFL Bias showing
Or...it could be that Dallas has the greater fan base nationwide, Dallas itself has over 6.5 million fans, while Greater Los Angeles has a population of 12.6 million, while the New Orleans fanbase, while loyal, vocal, and, in general, more sophisticated and intelligent, is only 1.5 million directly...
Maybe unfair, but hard to complain about the NFL going after the lowest common denominator. |
Re: NFL Bias showing
If your new source is corporate media, you should expect to be let down.

Re: NFL Bias showing
Ha Ha Ha….Just checked ESPN power rankings. Tampa at home beat Washington by 17 and move up EIGHT spots from 21 to 13. Saints beat Panthers by 37 and move up 2 spots to 23. So messed up. They really are gonna say there are 22 better teams than the Saints after a review of Sunday’s games?
And again it’s not that I want the Saints to be rated higher. I’m just pointing out the blatant media bias that clearly exists. |
Re: NFL Bias showing
I'm OK with not being the flavor of the week with the NFL.
Seems like every time the Saints look a little sexy, there's a nasty let down. I like staying under the radar as long as possible! |

But there is a bigger picture involved. I want to see the bias removed from coverage because it’s the right thing for a league that says it wants to be impartial to do. How can you claim to not have a stake in who wins next week’s game when your own network blatantly promotes one team more than the other? Also, Things like merchandise sales are impacted by this. When both the Saints and Cowboys win big yet the league talks about the Cowboys 5 to 10 times more than they do the Saints people are influenced by that. I just think it’s dishonest bull****. |

I’ve got a feeling it will be shown heavily on NFLN game day coverage. Between that and the red zone channel I should be good.

Re: NFL Bias showing
The Saints actually got a segment on Get Up on ESPN today in the reflected spotlight on the CowGirls today. Take a look because you'll see this about as often as a unicorn in Times Square:
Spoiler alert: The entire panel of course picked the CowGirls to win. SFIAH |

Re: NFL Bias showing
See post #11.
All you have to do is win ... I live in the DFW (Dallas/Ft Worth) area and all they have talked about is this Saints "juggernaut" team. Same goes for the National media outlets as well. When you annihilate that team with the star on their helmet in THEIR house ... you get folks attention quickly. Now it's the Eagles (another big market team) turn ... > Just Keep Winning https://media4.giphy.com/media/kEL26...iphy.webp&ct=g |
Re: NFL Bias showing
The media is just waiting to stab us in the back when Dallas wins a game.
