Re: Injury Report - Week 5 - Saints @ Chiefs
Demario not being on the list at all is important what with the injury to Gay. Didn't see Mathieu on it either.
Perry and Kendre back to practicing is another positive. |

Doghouse or not, I'd like to see Kendre on the field sharing reps with Kamara.

I don’t understand the AT Perry deal. Wasn’t he showing so real promise? I know he was injured but wtf?
It’s not like he was expensive. **** we could’ve let go of someone else to make room on the roster for whatever or whoever they’re trying to sign. I’m confused. Attitude issue??? |

The Cowboys and Falcons think that every time you are down you just need to write a big check for a big name. How has that worked out for them? When did spending a gazillion bucks on a senior wide receiver really get any team to the promised land? This ain't Madden. |

That injury report is diabolical 🙈.
What are they doing on Airline Dr from week to week?! Eating habits? Conditioning? Saints list is twice as long as the opponent every week. |

On offense we are playing a new system that is much more physical with an old roster that isn't, and we are doing it with a makeshift oline that is our greatest weakness, and asking everyone else on offense to make up the difference blocking at the line, then blocking again as they go downfield. I have nothing against this type of offense but we need a few more Kittle and Jurczk's on our offense, and not 34yo Taysom Hill trying to do it all for the first time, to make it work. People think Loomis has had a cheat code with the salary cap and we could ignore it all these years, but the truth is that one drawback of restructuring every contract to beat the salary cap is that if you bring in a new coach whose system might be better suited by some new players, you cannot accomplish that roster turnover to subtract old players to add new ones, because any veteran you cut loose comes with a giant dead cap hit from years of past restructures and deferred money. That is why it has been important to start winding down this revolving salary cap deficit as Loomis started doing this year. If you every wanted a new coach or coordinator they would want their own guys, and would not want to go to a team whose salary cap strategy dictates a 5 year process to get them. We don't have a durable physical legitimate threats over the middle of the field, except Taysom Hill out there breaking every rib he's got playing Kittle in the Neflix movie, so we are running an offense with a shoddy oline trying to pound the ball with an elite 3rd down RB who has been used in committees his whole career, in order to keep defenses honest so that our two deep threat receivers can have all day to get open, while the rest of the team is desperately trying to help with blocking. One one play everyone including the deep threat receivers desperately blocks to pound the ball with Kamara so he can gain some yards before taking a hit and breaking a rib, then on the next play we try to execute a quick out to the sidelines that sometimes works and sometimes doesnt, then on the next play everyone including Kamara desperately block to give Shaheed or Olave enough time to get deep. This offense is designed to be part physical smash mouth football and part spreading the field to take the heat off everyone. But because we don't have the weapons to attack the middle of the field and Carr can tend to throw picks attacking the field without the right weapons under pressure, we don't attack the middle of the field effectively and can't execute the part about spreading the field, so its all smash mouth. And because our oline is our weakest point, to play smash mouth have to have everyone putting everything into blocks down field on every play except a few quick outs, but really we need the blocks there too to sell it. San Francisco has a lot of injuries too, playing the same offense, but not quite as many, because their personnel were carefully selected over years for being suited for it, they can attack the middle of the field, and they have a good oline. Our injury report includes 2 TE, 2 WR, 2 RB, and 4 Oline (counting McCoy going to IR in season). It is evenly spread across an overwhelmed offense with an emphasis on oline. This is one reason we need to add 22 year olds not 32 year old going forward. On defense, Demario Davis is among the oldest defensive starters in the league and Payton Turner has been injured his whole career. Bresee's red flag in the draft was injury and he is kind of a big clunky akward guy who will just be on the report here and there a lot. So 4 players on the report on defense is perhaps slightly above average, but nothing incredible, and when you look at our defensive roster we are going to tend to be above average on the report. Its a miracle that Lattimore, Jordan, Mathieu, etc are not on the report, because though their remaining effectiveness runs the spectrum, they all definitely bring some aches and pains with their experience and leadership. |

Re: Injury Report - Week 5 - Saints @ Chiefs
I honestly think we can do this. We can defeat the Chiefs. It's going to take a mistake free game(we can't play like we did the last couple of weeks). What I see with our team is a high ceiling and some problems reaching that ceiling. If we can find a pathway to consistency I honestly believe we can compete for the NFC. Hell I think we can win the NFC.

This was going to be a hard enough Fant win without the laundry list of players that are out!
It will take a perfect game to beat the Chiefs AND the refs! Saints take second place in the division from the yucs with a 31-27 victory! |
Re: Injury Report - Week 5 - Saints @ Chiefs
They are going to need several washing machines for that laundry list.
|
Re: Injury Report - Week 5 - Saints @ Chiefs
Add Pete Werner to the list.
He is a late scratch - OUT on Monday Night. |

I have a feeling we’re going to see the REAL Mahomes tomorrow night.
We’ll also get a good chance to see who the REAL SAINTS are. |
Re: Injury Report - Week 5 - Saints @ Chiefs
The team placed center Shane Lemieux on injured reserve with an ankle injury and signed guard Kyle Hergel from the practice squad to the active roster. The swap comes as starter Erik McCoy is recovering from a groin injury and days after the team added center Connor McGovern to the roster with guard Lucas Patrick (groin) questionable for Monday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. In addition to shelving Lemieux and adding Hergel, the Saints also downgraded Kendre Miller (hamstring) to out and promoted linebacker Isaiah Stalbird and safety Johnathan Abram from the practice squad for the Chiefs game. From Canada, Hergel signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent. He has the ability to play on the interior at both guard spots and at center. |

I wonder how many more O-linemen were hurt in the KC game?
Time to scour some more practice squads? |

If Rattler played well, it'd save DA's job, which isn't good.
We need whoever goes in to absolutely stink up the place and get DA fired. |

DA's winning % is ranked 150 out of 158 qualifying head coaches. Yet still has a job? |
Re: Injury Report - Week 5 - Saints @ Chiefs
I’d like to add to the Injury Report: The Dignity of all Saints Fans, until further notice.
