I’ve NEVER seen anything like this. EVER.

The amount of injuries is unprecedented.

Agreed. All across the league. They were talking about this on NFL Radio this week. The injury plague is league wide. I believe that the game has advanced to the point where it surpasses the ability for the human body to handle the speed, weight, and power placed upon each other.

If the NFL cares about its product, they ought to increase roster sizes from 53 to something like 60 and give a modest salary cap bump to help with that. There's more than enough money to make that tweak.

The injury plague may be league wide, but our mismanagement is team specific.

Dude I think he’s talking about the Saints injuries. Like look at that list. Insane. I’m sure there might be other teams who have a long list but dude…cmon that is a **** load of players on one team.

In war, if attrition rates are high, you need bodies. Therefore, it is good that we didnt trade away any draft picks. Maybe next year we trade back in the draft and get more picks. The reason we are among the top teams in injuries is that with an ever aging and injury prone roster, we converted from a finesse offense to a smash mouth offense. It took San Francisco a few years to find the personnel who could survive in their offense. For years their starting QB and starting RB went down every year. We have found many of the ones who can't survive in this offense.

Slightly different take. Increase roster, freeze cap for 4 years forcing teams to learn to work within their budget and since a roster increase benefits the players there is no justification for increased pay for reduced risk. Increased risk is always the argument for more/guaranteed pay.

Do not get me wrong, I see where you are coming from. I also know that agents use that increase in cap each year to argue for more money and a cap increase will go to the top players while the team adds 7 players with minimal compensation to say they have done their part.

the numbers are pretty disgusting.

How about we go to a "Healthy Report"? Seems like that list would be shorter these days.

(FYI, that's a little thing called sarcasm, for those that can't tell.)

If you named our top 10 players, 7 of them are on that list.

It could never happen. The NFL operates under a collectively bargained agreement between ownership and players. The whole structure guarantees that nothing like that ever could take place. The cap is contractually tied to revenues. The players are contractually guaranteed 48.8% of that revenue.

Some are not on that list because they are on IR.

Why don’t they just allow practice squad players to dress on gameday a used like the emergency qb?

Great opportunity for Means to show he can be a productive player and a once in a lifetime chance for Tipton as well. We were thin from the start at WR.

Why trade him when he couldn't be replaced by the pick gained? He's on a one year prove it deal and I'd rather have him going forward than taking a chance on a pick that may never amount to anything.

In order to save $5 million cap or so and get a draft pick. We are going nowhere this year anyway. Young is a free agent anyway. We arent going to franchise tag him. If he gets a big contract we are not paying him. If he is willing to sign for a reasonable amount, trading him now does nothing to prevent signing him in March 2025. We could theoretically trade him for a pick, save $5 million now, and sign him in March.
