Week Seven: Broncos @ Saints

The charge to the playoffs begins in two days. As players return rom injury the Saints begin a roll against a weak schedule.

Weekly info here.

Brees being inducted for Saints HOF with a lot of special guests likely in attendance.

CSP back in town for the first time as an opposing coach.

These are unprecedented distractions, and we have a head coach in Dennis Allen whose ability to get his team to focus is dubious, at best.

It'll be must-watch TV.

Must see in the stands for me. Also, my girl, Karen Waldrup, is singing the National Anthem. I've been following her career for the last few years. She's about to hit it big soon.

As for Allen and his focus message, those that matter most were on the inactive or IR lists. The best coach in the world can't get that JV team up enough to beat the opponent's varsity.

Sorry son, but there be some serious lithium in your fruit loops.

Still too many injuries to key players. We get blasted again. The boo birds will become quite loud.

Alright, the root beer throwbacks! Need to at least be dressed sharp out there.

Not expecting boo birds. The vast majority of the crowd is intelligent enough to know the difference between a bad team and one that is decimated by injury. I didn't hear any at all in the TB games on Sunday.

The Bucs beat us 51 - 27 on Sunday. The dead silence that you heard is scarier than “boo” by a long shot.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Karen Waldrup with the National Anthem. She's a country singer from Mandeville that I have been following for years now. Great voice. In fact, she was one of the finalists on The Voice this past season.

I think we have to give her a look at slot receiver with the injuries we are facing.

I could see this game as something like 23-10 Broncos. I think the injuries at WR, oline, and having a backup QB will severely limit our offense. Our defense on the other hand could bounce back if they are motivated, and the Broncos have a weak offense. In their best game the Broncos beat the Bucs 26-7. In their highest scoring game they beat the Raiders 34-18, and that Raiders offense certainly featured a better WR, TE, and oline than the Saints will in this game. I don't think it will be easy for us to score with no receivers, no oline, and a backup QB, and our offense will give the Broncos scoring opportunities, but still our defense will slow them unless DA has completely lost the locker room.

I dont think it is overly pessimistic to say we could lose this game on the road by a smaller margin than the team that just put up 50 on us lost the same game by at home. 23-10 is being conservative. 51-0 would be negative.

How about a bad team that is decimated by injury?

Teams all around the league have been decimated by injury. Few teams are as bad as us.

3 years now with Allen. Can't keep using that injury excuse. Saints found a way to lose @ Atlanta and the Philly game.

Loomis sat in that end of the year press conference smacking gum, comparing HOF coaches to Allen while ignoring issues of signing real DEPTH and talent.

A well coached team will over come adversity. See Sean Payton 2021 team (9-8). He had the likes of Marquez Callaway, Trequan Smith & Trevor Semian:rolleyes:.

Yet here we are again on a 4 game losing streak.

I just hope we don't get embarassed again tonight by Payton and the Broncos.

CSP had his faults, but he almost always got the Saints up for prime time and big national games. It's changed dramatically since he left. I expect Denver to show some of the prime time swagger we used to exhibit.

Just like last week, I have no confidence in this team. And just like last week, I hope they pull out a win. But we’re absolutely decimated by injuries.

The upside is that the injuries give some rookies some serious game time so they can evaluated properly.

I just don’t want to get embarrassed.

I actually DO hope that we DO get embarrassed tonight by Sean Payton. I personally love and miss Sean Payton, and as much I love my Saints, I love the truth and justice more. Tonight, all ceremonies aside, we will see the truth in the final score. More importantly, we will see exactly what this team’s upper (mis)management is made of, if radical changes aren’t made after this loss.

Statistically speaking, the Broncos are solid defensively.

Sad thing is Mickey is still defending Allen, urging people to quote “look past results”

Third year with the same product and he says some sh*t like this

I consider myself an intelligent fan and I consider this bad football with a lot of injuries. If anyone thinks this team wins another game this year with DA on the sidelines you are high. Not every good coordinator is head coach material. I still think DA is a very good defensive coach, this team aside, but he’s not a head coach. Mickey wants to look beyond results, look at 28-51 career record. That’s like a manager losing money every year but keeping his job.
