Re: Should Saints Pick Up Options on 2022 Draft Picks?
If we have until May 1, then the decision should be made after the first wave of FA and draft.
Olave. This would be a no-brainer on performance alone, but the multiple concussions are a huge red flag. I'd be interested to see how Kellen would utilize CO. Devonte Smith had 40 less targets and the offense was more lethal. IMO we should attempt to renegotiate a long term contract with that overrides the 5YO but also draft a WR. Penning. He may not have measured up to the high draft status (yet) but he continually shows up and gives signs of (slight) improvement. Is he a tackle? Is he a guard? Again, I'm eager to see what Kellen's new O Line coach (TBD) can do with him. At the end of the day, guys with his physical ability don't grow on trees. IMO we try to renegotiate a long term contract and also draft high for Guard or Tackle. We could end up with LT Kelvin Banks, LG Penning, C McCoy, RG Ruiz, RT Fuaga. That's a legit o line. |
