Publications infer that Jeanty's down the field catch abilities aren't the same as Kamara's, which to me spells less than 1st round cost. Maybe they are wrong and he's wroth such a high draft pick.

Here's my latest to include the extra 7th we got.

9.
Kelvin Banks Jr.
OT Texas
40.
Kenneth Grant
DT Michigan
71.
Tate Ratledge
OG Georgia
93.
Cameron Skattebo
RB Arizona State
112.
David Walker
EDGE Central Arkansas
131.
Ricky White
WR UNLV
184.
Teddye Buchanan
LB California
248.
Nazir Stackhouse
DT Georgia
254.
Craig Woodson
S California

I'm liking this latest iteration the most, with a heavy emphasis on quality beef on both sides. Skattebo while no Jeanty will suffice. The lower end of these selections all have a chance to stick, IMHO.

Love this draft. Especially if we sign Kupp or Becton.
I'm keeping this draft for now. Didn't do the full 7 round bc I have no idea who we'll draft late and what picks we'll use to trade up.

I do love the first 4 picks though.

Liked this post mostly because you used "wroth".
The mock draft looks solid, though.

Typos.... LOLz

Here's another.

9.
Kelvin Banks Jr.
OT Texas
40.
Donovan Jackson
OG Ohio State
71.
Darius Alexander
DT Toledo
93.
Josaiah Stewart
EDGE Michigan
112.
Gunnar Helm
TE Texas
131.
Smael Mondon Jr.
LB Georgia
184.
Raheim Sanders
RB South Carolina
248.
Jason Marshall Jr.
CB Florida
254.
Efton Chism
WR Eastern Washington

Maybe I'm wrong to concentrate so much on beef on both sides. But we suffered through some serious declines with injuries on both sides of the line.

I like the WR Efton Chism pick up late.

Not a bad draft, however I did some research on Banks and he not only projects to be a good OT, he even projects higher as a guard. Love that versatility. So if we took him at 9, which I think is a good spot, I don’t see the need to double dip and grab Jackson at 40. Besides I like Pennings progress and think we’re good at tackle for now. I like Jackson a lot though, so I would draft him at 40 if he’s there and use that 9 spot for a stud CB or WR like McMillan. Even wouldn’t be mad if we used our first on Jaylon Walker. He’s a versatile piece that I think is gonna be a stud

Re: NFL Mock Draft 2025

I have a simple wish list:

Don't trade up in the 1st round, at least not enough to cost a future 1st round pick (unless it is only one future 1st rounder and its for a generational QB, which I don't see this year).

Don't draft a TE in the 1st round, the transition from college to pros at TE is too unpredictable, too few great TEs come from the 1st round, too many come from the middle rounds, its NEVER smart to use a 1st round pick on a TE.

Don't draft a RB in the 1st round, their careers are short and unpredictable, and with our oline and passing games issues even a great RB would struggle. Plus so many great RBs come from round 2-4. And we already have so much invested in the position with Kamara's foolish contract. This isn't a league where you have a RB $12 million to split carries and invest a high 1st round pick in another to split carries.

Obviously there are other niche stupid things we could do like trade our 1st round pick for CMC or draft a punter in the 1st, but basically I am not a scout and if they make a good faith effort to pick a QB, WR, OT, DL, LB, or CB who was expected to be drafted in the 1st round and attended a university that isn't known for its quaint liberal arts program I am ok with it.

UPDATE: Also please don't draft a 1st round pick with a troubling injury history in college.

Re: NFL Mock Draft 2025

All eyes on Jeff Ireland & his scouting team.

You gotta nail this draft. No whiffs, no projects, no wasted picks (Trautman, Turner, Davenport, Ian Book).

Saints need young talent.

This is one of the most reasonable posts I believe I have ever seen from you. Are you actually Bako? Yes, there are still touches of Bakoism there, but much more sublime.

Cam Ward put out a statement saying it would be a dream come true to play for the Saints.

Send #9, Carr, Olave, and a future 2nd.
