The 2025 B&G Draft Prediction Contest

Let's have some fun, for those still able. :bng:

The 2025 B&G Draft Prediction Contest!

Who can most accurately predict the Saints' picks in this year's draft - with a twist!

New Orleans Saints' 2025 Draft Picks:

Round 1, Pick 9
Round 2, Pick 40
Round 3, Pick 71
Round 3, Pick 93 (from Washington)
Round 4, Pick 112
Round 4, Pick 131 (from Washington)
Round 6, Pick 184
Round 7, Pick 248 (from Philadelphia through Washington)
Round 7, Pick 254 (Compensatory)

Scoring System:

5 points if you correctly predict the exact player the Saints select at a specific pick.

3 points for accurately predicting the position (e.g., quarterback, defensive end) of the player selected at a specific pick.

2 points if you correctly predict the college from which a player is drafted at a specific pick.

Trade Predictions:

Receive 3 points for correctly predicting that the Saints will trade up or down in a specific round.

Predicting Trade Details:

Earn an additional 3 points if you accurately predict the exact pick number the Saints will trade to.

Gain 5 extra points if you correctly predict the player the Saints select after executing the trade.

Bonus Points:

If your predicted player is drafted by the Saints and is the first player selected at his position in the draft, award yourself 2 bonus points.

Late-Round Gems:

For correctly predicting a player selected by the Saints in rounds 6 or 7, add 3 bonus points, acknowledging the difficulty of late-round predictions.

Game Rules:

All mock draft predictions must be submitted before the commencement of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Clearly indicate any anticipated trades involving the Saints, specifying the round and pick numbers involved.

After the draft, tally scores based on the actual draft outcomes using the scoring system outlined above.

Winner Determination:

The member with the highest total score will be declared the winner.

Example Prediction:

Round 1, Pick 9: Will Campbell, Offensive Tackle, LSU

Exact Player: 5 points (if Will Campbell is selected at Pick 9)

Position: 3 points (if an offensive tackle is selected at Pick 9)

College: 2 points (if a player from LSU is selected at Pick 9)

Bonus: 2 points (if Will is the first Tackle off the board)

TOTAL: 12 points

This looks fun as hell. I just wish I knew enough about more college players to even put in a halfway decent prediction past round three. So I’ll just watch you guys.

C'mon jnormand. It's for fun! I guarantee most of us won't get more than 1, or 2 picks right.

I think last year was the first season in years - maybe ever - that the Saints drafted the guy I wanted!

Trade Predictions:

We will trade up.

We will draft a player from Ohio State.

We will draft at least one oft-injured player.

I'm kidding... not really... maybe a little. I do like my odds!

My prediction is Abdul Carter falls to the pats at four and we trade up to get him

Alternate prediction- we trade down and grab another second and also trade back up into the second for a total of a first and three seconds for our first four picks

I've always hated draft speculation, but with the total lack of comprehension of the competition displayed thus far, I believe I may have a reasonable chance of winning. Just kidding ... kind of. :D

Just put in a bunch of trade ups where you end up with like 3 guys this year and give away a high draft pick next year. Loomis mo

I barely know the first round prospects. Except for positions of need I haven't really spent enough time on it. Good job Rez.

Same.
How about this: I predict that the Saints will not pick a QB in the 1st two rounds. They'll get two defensive linemen. One for the edge and one for the middle.

9. New Orleans Saints - Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss

Biggest Needs: CB, Edge, WR, S

Initially, I had the Saints selecting Tyler Warren with this selection. However, with the recent news that Derek Carr could be lost for the season, New Orleans faces the dilemma of entering the season with Spencer Rattler as their starter, attempting to sign Aaron Rodgers, or drafting a quarterback.

Jaxson Dart has been climbing up draft boards and has surpassed Shedeur Sanders in the eyes of many scouts, leading up to the draft in Green Bay.

With Dart's arm talent and ability to create with his legs, he takes what was an explosive offense during the first quarter of the 2024 season and makes them even more dangerous. After all, last season the former Rebel threw for nearly 4,300 yards at nearly a 70 percent completion rate. Dart also nearly ran for 500 yards, averaging four yards per carry and totalling 32 touchdowns.

With Dart's combination of size, mobility, and arm strength, he's a perfect fit for Kellen Moore's offense.

Re: The 2025 B&G Draft Prediction Contest

Okay, I've never been into the draft as a prognosticator, only an observer. I give up beyond this guess ...

Saints trade 1.09 to the Cowboys for their 1.12 and their 2nd rounder.
Saints select Jaxson Dart at 1.12.

The Saints then trade back into the 1st round coupling their 2nd and the Cowgirls 2nd and future consideration for some late pick and select a coveted defensive player.

That's all I've got.
