Re: Saints Flash Back Friday
We had about 5 or so years that Drew Brees was an absolute freaking machine on the field.
Damn shame there's only one Superbowl in that window. 2013 was for sure a lost ring... |

Re: Saints Flash Back Friday
Outside of 2009 and 2013's defense, I'll never forgive Payton for not building a defense that was even close to mediocre during Brees's prime.
He wasted so many years of Brees excellence. That flashback tells the whole story of those Payton teams, needing Brees to throw 7 TD's and then still needing a FG to win. |

Re: Saints Flash Back Friday
Sean Payton, the 21st century version of Don Coryell.
Don Coryell: San Diego Chargers head coach from 1978 to 1986. 3 AFC West titles, 4 playoff appearances, 2 AFC Championship Games. No Super Bowls. Record of 72 - 60 A .552 winning percentage Average of 9 wins per season. Sean Payton: New Orleans Saints head coach, 2006 - 2022. 7 Division Titles, 3 NFC Championship Games, 1 Super Bowl Championship. Record of 161 - 97. A .631 winning percentage. Average of 10 wins per season. Both teams put up "Video Game" offensive stats but for the most part were weak defensively. |
