Sear Payton was the losing Super Bow OC for the Kerry Collins led Giants. The Ravens led by 6 time All Pro AFC QB TRENT DILLFER who went 12 of 25 passes for 153 yards. Whilst leading the Ravens to a 34 - 7 ROUT of the Giants. SP the popped up in Big D and TURNED a FA QB INTO A PRETTY GOOD PLAYER. Payton is the BACK END of Denver's BRONCO (Here's a better analogy: IF SP took your best girl away forever, would you follow him around to watch him "Make Love" to your "EX" SP is DEAD TO ME His Name should never grace these pages again!! Kellen Moore is and WILL BE Who he will beome.

I see similarities.

Will he be here 17 years and have a 63% winning percentage? Maybe not.

But if he wins a Superbowl we won't care and the debate shouldn't begin until he does.

But I like his chances to at least have sustained success just as quickly.

Of course, Dennis Allen changed the culture, too. Not in a good way. I have far more faith in Moore.

This sums it up perfectly. We caught lightning in a bottle when they came here together. I’m just glad I was able to see every bit of it. I was around 33-34 when he came to town. I’m 51 now.

We had a special time in the sun. I would love to capture that lightning again.

Sean was philosophical and a thinker. Kellen Moore feels more like a designer/architect-minded. I'm not convinced he can run a locker room like Payton, who I felt convinced guys to get better every week. I think Kellen Moore will be a creative play schemer, though. Kellen Moore's biggest challenge will come from his ability to handle the locker room. If he can do that, he will succeed. There is only one Sean Payton. I've thought for a while that Sean is the best coach in the NFL. Now that he's pushing a horrible Denver team into places it shouldn't be, people are seeing how great he is. Moore will never be Payton, you can keep dreaming on that. Can Kellen Moore win? I think he can, but it's no guarantee. And as I said, I think his biggest attribute is as an architect. Let's see how he builds and designs.

His floor is Adam Gase (well maybe a little higher considering Moore did win a Super Bowl as OC)

His ceiling is Sean McVay

I think the most likely outcome is he is like Mike McDaniel - runs a high-octane offense but he's just a different guy and it feels hard to decipher if he is really a good head coach.

What confuses me, is Payton doing well with that Denver squad, yet failed to field even a mediocre defense for years, to get a generational QB a 2nd ring.
Brees literally guaranteed at least 7-10 wins per year on his own, Payton just needed to field a defense to get another 3 or 4 and couldn't do it.

The biggest change we got to our defense was when we got Jeff Ireland. We drafted some good players who went to other places and were successful before this, but that happens to every team. I just don't think we had great overall talent on defense. Hiring Rob Ryan was a mistake. Getting rid of Spags so early was a mistake. There are just a lot of variables. Sean's suspension created more chaos than people realize, which is why he attempted to start fresh when he returned. Payton was the head coach so he's not exempt from blame, but we had a ton of revolving doors, and it felt like we could never find stability on the defensive side until Allen and Nolan.
