I think we are all anxious to see what happens with the QB situation. Also want to see if any WRs step up.

Which QB starts? My money is on Rattler.

I would expect so. It is his turn. Means nothing, but keeping to the rotation it makes sense. Now, if it's Shough it does make it a little more interesting because of changing the rotation. We'll see.

Means "nothing"?

Yes. At this point who actually starts this first preseason game means little to nothing. On the other hand, how they handle their chances mean everything. Wouldn't you agree? I would also suspect that whomever doesn't start this game will start next Sunday. Also meaning nothing beyond rotation.

I will have much more faith in Moore if he starts Rattler. Tells me he’s not afraid to go against “his guy” for the betterment of the team. It would be a different story if camp competition was closer, but everything I’m reading from the local media says Rattler is having a better camp.

Rattler won't start game 1 of live football because it's simply "his turn".

It means he's won the coaches trust over Shough.

I agree "how they handle" will be paramount, but this wasn't a casual decision.

Don't we need two preseason games worth to make a better determination on who's going to start? CKM said he was close, however, in a recent interview, FWIW. We don't have a clue yet as fans as to how the plays are being executed as the coaches want them to be.

By "live football" I meant preseason game one. Now if the same player that started game one also starts game two then that does mean something. Today's camp is Rattler's turn run the ones. Let's see if they keep any rotation going. If Shough runs the first team today does that mean he's been declared the winner of the competition? No. It really means little until the regular season starter is explicitly named or one player consistently begins running with the ones in camp.

To clarify, I meant to ask which QB starts this weekend. That said, the battle for the QB to start the season really does seem to be down to Rattler and Shough and from what I'm reading, Rattler apparently is in the lead.

Apparently Rattler is with the ones again today. I read that's twice in a row. I had thought Shough was with the ones on Sunday, but I guess I was mistaken. That leads me to believe he's getting the first preseason start. But that all changes if Shough goes with the ones again tomorrow.

Camp is used to determine pecking order. By the first preseason game the order is most likely decided and up to the starter to lose. I do expect both to play a significant amount of snaps in pre season game 1 and out of that should be a clear winner.

Shough may run first team today but again I think the preseason starter will be our regular season starter barring injury.

Keep in mind they only play 3 preseason games so while coach may rotate in game 2, the significance of who starts game 1 is not coincidental.

Don't forget the Jameis versus Taysom decision. It wasn't made until after the second preseason game.

Well, it appears Moore hasn't made a decision on who will get the start this weekend.

Well, now they are saying both QB's worked with the ones today. Friday is supposed to be another scrimmage with 126 proposed snaps. Maybe will have a better idea of Sunday's starter after that.

QB battle will be noteworthy however keep an eye on the RBs not named Kamara.

Last year Underhill stated (Podcast) a few times how Kendre Miller not being on the same page pre snap (probably why he had limited reps when healthy). Fast forward to Day 5 of this year's camp, read he forced a timeout due to line up issues.

Keep an eye on Akers, Velus & Yarns.

Devin Neal will be out for a few weeks.

Just read or heard that a couple of days ago somewhere. They were relating it to the Rattler/Shough competition. It has been a fairly major topic on NFL Radio the past couple of weeks, so it was probably there.

Teams are required to put out an "official" depth chart the week of any game, preseason or regular.

Here's what they released ... at first string ... QB ... Rattler - or - Shough - or - Haener.

I presume you mean WR behind the starters, right? I don't think that Olave, Shaheed, or Cooks have anything to prove other than supporting whatever QB is out on the field.
