The point is, if the receiver did absolutely nothing, the ball should have never been thrown in his direction. Shouldn't that tell you that Brooks, obviously, had no clue what Henderson was doing.
On a timing route, you throw the ball to where the receiver is supposed to be. Where did Brooks throw the ball? He threw it in the direction where the receiver was stagnant, straight to the receiver not the route. The CB was in front of Henderson for the entire play. This tells you one of two things. 1)Either Brooks threw the ball without looking to that side of the field at all, or he never (for some reason) seen the cornerback there. 2)Brooks was intending to throw the ball over the corner's head. This would mean that it was a badly underthrown ball. The corner never had to break on the ball, it was thrown straight at him. |
