Man this is completely classless, I'm embarrassed. Tom Benson has lost it. I think he lacks capacity to run and own an NFL franchise.

The case for San Antonio was weak to begin with. But I don't think pointing out that 2500 more tickets sold at half the price is gonna be the deal breaker. Especially since San Antonio had two weeks to buy for a team that have no ties to, as opposed to Louisiana and surrounding areas having a month. Also, the falcons game was a omplete sellout. Add to that at 61,600, that leaves 17,400 empty seats in Baton rouge, as opposed to the 6300 empty in San Antonio. Like I said, the case was for San Antonio was already week from jump, but that argument doesn't make it any weaker.

Well I don't see this as a San Antonio vs. Louisiana thing. It's hard to compare a thriving economic city like San Antonio to a region that looks and feels like it just got hit by a nuclear bomb. That coupled with the fact that this organization has done nothing but snub their nose at the region and the State in general, 61,643 was a great accomplishment and I think the NFL saw that.

Exactly what I am saying. That's why I pointed out twice the case for San Antonio was already weak. There's no need for that comparison, unless the game was sold out. This is a Louisiana verses Tom Benson thing. Or a Saints fans verses Tom Benson thing if you will. Pointing out those attendance numbers verses San Antonio's means nothing. Pointing out that a hurricane ravaged area where pople still can't go home or don't have homes to go to put 61,000 some odd people in the stands is all the point that needs to be made. And it was well made. The boo birds came out again, but it's cause they care. I loved seeing all the signs about keeping our team. That's the point that should be made.

Has Texas begun funding the state corporate welfare program of the Saints ???? If you want to play the ticket price game , we can play the state subsidy game all day long .

The point was , that Benson is going to have a hard time selling the whole " I will go bankrupt if I do not move to San Antonio " concept with 61,000 butts in the seats .

It might stand more to reason that the general lack of interest is based upon the continual poor showing of your team . At some point in time there needs to be a comparison to attendance versus the poor quality of the team play . Arizona is the prime example , they have attendance under 40,000 all the time and that ownership seems to stay there and make things happen .

There has been no state subsidy this season. Weren't you told? And why would Texas give the Saints a subsidy when they don't give one to Dallas and Houston? Also, the governor has voiced he will pitch in money to help build a new stadium, as well as local investors, does that count? I still don't see how it's relevant to do a comparison. Saints, in New Orleans for 39 years. Saints in San Antonio for barely two weeks. I see what you're driving at. :roll:

He was having a hard time selling that wanyway. Noone believed him all last year when he cried broke but wouldn't open the books. We had 36 consec sellouts in the dome and he was crying broke, and noone believed him. This doesn't make it any harder on him. IMO. He is still the same greedy SOB.

I agree 150%, that's why our consec sell out streak ended after we went 4-8. There is something to be said for testing the limits of fan patience. What I do know is, Baton Rouge and everyone there had a great showing thst stands on its own merits. Comparing them to San Antonio's first game isn't really doing anything to enhance that, cause there are SO many factors going into it. We need another great showing at the Bears game next week, but we still have to be concerned about Nov. 29 and this force majeure clause. [/b]

That's a great article. The second one. That would count as a swift kick to the balls. As far as your other statement about my subsidy comment, I knew they were getting a fraction. But to an owner demanding more for years, 3.3 million of what would have been 15 mil is nothing.
