NFC Probowl roster

Looks like only Bentley will be going from the Saints. Interesting that Jake Delhomme was selected at QB.

RE: NFC Probowl roster

Good job, Jake. He deserves it.
Also proud of Warrick Dunn (go Bears).
Congratulations LeCharles. Most of the roster looks spot on, except the Vick selection puzzles me a little. I didn't he was having that great a year.

FrenzyFan 12-21-2005 03:46 PM

Yeah, I thought the Vick selection was (and is) wrong.

IMO he's over-hyped by the NFL and that gets you pro-bowl votes (three MNF appearances this year?!?). In short order, I believe he will go the way of Brooks - he just doesn't seem to be the "field general" type to me and raw athleticism doesn't seem to last long term in the NFL.

"One lonely Beastie I be." Congrats LeCharles.

Also congrats to Jake. Gotta love that front office.

RE: Re: NFC Probowl roster

I'm surprised Bentley made it. But then again, every team has to have a representative. If I had a vote, the only player on this team that deserves to go is our punter... which is very sad considering all the talent on this team.

saintswhodi 12-21-2005 04:00 PM

Or Will Smith!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tobias-Reiper 12-21-2005 04:02 PM

Hasselbeck, sure... Jake, ok... but other other than Brad Johnson - who IMO is much more deserving of it than Vick - who'd you send to the Probowl as the 3rd QB? Orton? Garcia? Warner? Simms? Brooks :) ?

mjf150 12-21-2005 04:13 PM

Do the rules dictate that every team has to have a representative?

Yup.

mjf150 12-21-2005 04:19 PM

You are incorrect, sir.
This is a quote from the link below:
"Four teams had no players chosen -- Cleveland and Tennessee in the AFC, San Francisco and Green Bay in the NFC. Of those four, the Browns have the best record: 5-9."

I was just about to post that I was wrong too. I was thinking aout the NBA and not the NFL. My bad.

saintswhodi 12-21-2005 04:40 PM

Wait, I am wrong again. It is MLB that does that, not the NFL or the NBA. Sheesh. I'll just shetup now. :(

papz 12-21-2005 04:47 PM

I see... I thought every NFL team had to have one too.

With the way he got man handled by 7th round draft picks in the Falcons game, Bentley doesn't deserve to go. After looking at that roster again, they might as well send the whole Bears defense... they're frickin' crazy.

iceshack149 12-21-2005 05:17 PM

Brad Johnson or Kurt Warner should go, not Vick.

I know that this more of a popularity thing and that the choices in the NFC are poor, but Vick doesn't deserve the title of "Probowl Quarterback".

BrooksMustGo 12-21-2005 06:56 PM

If Vick ever lives up to the hype, he would be an amazing football player instead of just an amazing athlete.

Maybe the valtrex is holding him back?

I REALLY wish we had committed LeCharles to a long term deal this past off-season.
And to Jim Haslett I say, "Yeah, you're so right, Willie Roaf is a shadow of the player he used to be."

D_it_up 12-21-2005 08:05 PM

I think Eli Manning (as much as I can't stand him) or Drew Bledsoe (as much as I hate the Cowboys) should have made the pro bowl over Michael Vick...

I have no idea what Jake Delhomme is doing on the Pro Bowl roster. However, "it is what it is."
