I have been hearing a lot about this guy, and I thought it was just hype. Then I watched the Ohio State/Notre Dame game the other night. Now I see what all the talk was about.

I know it was only one game, and I'll hopefully get to see some film of him, but WOW.

He is a sure and solid tackler, ALWAYS around the ball, and has really good game speed.

At one point the ND running back was trying to score a touchdown, and Hawk met him at the goal line and just
CRUSHED

him and kept him from scoring.

If we could move down a couple of spots and pick him up, I wouldn't be upset.

I think this team needs a QB more than anything, seeing as how our defense ended up not sucking too much ass, but I think that if we moved down, got AJ Hawk and more picks, I would be pleased.

.. and the kid has range... from side to side of the field...Personally I wouldn't pick Leinart or Young. This kid looks like the real deal.

I think a solid linebacker like Hawk would be a very smart draft choise. I mean both Leinart and Young might become big time NFL quarterbacks but that won't help if the team don't have defence. Look at the Bears this year, Orton was a rookie taken in the fourth round and they are still in the playoffs due to GREAT defence. I think a guy like Hawk could bring us a little closer to that.

Of course not! But what I'm saying is that it might not be the best value to bring in a QB with a high pick if you can't stop the other team from scoring. I would like the Saints to bring in a veteran QB and then bring in another young QB either trough the draft or FA. A veteran could help groom A-Mac and the other QB and we might be able to gain trade value or a starter from either one later.
I also would like to se A-Mac in NFLE where he could get some much needed experience of playing on a high level.

But our defense can stop people from scoring. The problem was an offense that gave up the most turnovers in the league, scored sporadically, and never set a tone of consistency at any point this year. Close to half the total points given up by our team came off turnovers. I don't know what league you can win like that, but it's not this one. With a coach who cuts those mistakes, and a accurate, good decision making QB like Leinart, I guarantee you would see even more improvement in our D. We have the talent, and there are LBs aplenty in this draft. I don't think anyone would be disappointed with a second round Odell Thruman or Lofa Tatupu. I know I wouldn't.

Well, I think we will have to agree to disagree. We need a Defence that can make some big plays, we have players that do but not the defence as a whole. I don't think a guy like Leinart would be the best fit for NO, I want somebody more use to fighting trough adversity and who's got a chip on his shoulder.

The saints will just have to pick

Saints are staying were they are in the draft and getting Leinart..... Saints Offense was terrible horrible the worst !!!! Our Defense he its wasnt all that bad with hopefully a new Defense corrdinator we he could shape these guys up some.... But we have to go to the Offense in the first round..... definaltly....... Offense Matt Leinart......

Sure it would be nice to have a LB like Hawk but i mean Leinart to me is a Franchise QB and ya cant pass on that....

Yeah i think we should take a Qb at the second pick but if Vince comes out and texans dont take him then what who would you pick me i would pick vince.

Hawk, VY, Linehart, Bush? I well be thrilled with any of these guys. All 4 of these guys would improve the team dramaticlly. I would have to rank them Linehart, hawk, bush, VY. Sorry all you Vince fans the guy was amazing in the Rose Bowl, but I never saw the deep ball, his side arm throw scares me, and I don't know if he is capable to work under center.(was always in shotgun)

this really doesnt mean jack but i played a friend of mine last night in NCAA 06, and i got LSU and he got ohio state... all he did was blitz with Hawk and he was unstoppable..... i would line up in shotgun and he would get to my QB before i could get the ball..... it was effin crazy.... so then i went to max protect.... nope that aint stop him either.... i still put up 48 pts but man....that dude was all over my anus all game long......

So shotgun is just fine.

well it wasnt cuz i wanted to... i couldnt stop hawk... if i would line up in the I or any other formation... i didnt have enough time to make a 5 step drop.....much less 7 or run play-action
