OL #1 pick

How about going OT in #1. Dump gandy and give it to Bentley. That to me makes more sense the more i think about it. Talk about a boost. two tackles and a center all probowl caliber and sprinkle it with a vet center and/or G then dump merryberryand his $$$ and give it Holland. If the IR returnies can play next year and pick up some more youth in the draft. Aa lot of average backs could gain 1000+ yards and a so so QB can eat lunch while making his reads. HMMM i have joked about it but i am close to jumping of the AJ bandwagon.

i would be happy with dropping down a few spots to draft ferguson. my first choice is still to draft leinart with the first pick, but trading down and getting ferguson or hawk would be alright with me.

I understand QB debate. I just hate to see him killed. besides is this what denver has done?

With Denver it's all about scheme. They have good linemen, but they can make up for not having great linemen with their great zone running schemes

You can draft a lineman in the first round. I just keep getting visions of Tony Manderich tho. History's shown you can get a few quality front line beefers in the 3rd and successive rounds and not waste the early picks, Skill positions go fast in the early rounds.

Every position has its "history" of bad picks, thats why the lesser teams get better picks, so they take the "smart" choices. I like D'Brickshaw and him and Brown with Bentley, and maybe draft Jean-Gilles in the second (get an extra 2nd pick with the move down). A solid offensive line would do wonders for our team. With all being less than 25 (Bentley dunno his age), we would have a KC type O-Line.

The reason I'd rather us not get a QB with our first pic is soley because we have to many area's of need. A QB isn't going to fix out line and that is the first area that you SHOULD address in building a team not the QB. If you don't have a line to protect are even block for your RB you aren't going anywheres.

I'm not completely sold on ferguson. Instead, i like the guy from auburn, McNeil.

i think both of them will be solid pros... but i also think that ferg. will be better.. he had a down year b/c of an injury

Plus he considered the most Pro-Ready player, and I live in VA and have seen his damage. He has a mean streak which he could bring to our team.

That is all I have read about is ability to step in and play right away. I have seen him play and he is a finisher on all plays. Love to see his pancake total. As for Giels he will be gone in round one. Or pick up a OT, in 2 with an extra pick I really like Darynn Colledge, OT, Boise State he to me is the most flexable OT in the draft. plus we could trade down a few places and still get him and more picks for day 2.
Matt Lentz, OG, Michigan is a very viable pick late on day 1.
Tony Palmer, OG, Mizzou mid day 2 bargin
I would like to see why one of the greatest offensive lines in college U of Minnesota is not getting that much talk at G and C? Damn 6 RB over 1000 yards in 3 years has to mean something.

RE: OL #1 pick

i've had my full of drafting offensive lineman with our top picks year, after year after year. mind you that's is what has put us in the situation we're in now. with no defense enough to even stop anybody's grandmother from gainning a 100yds per game.

So winwin you spend all day shooting down everyone else's ideas....why don't you tell us who you think we should take and contribute to the conversation for a change?

I understand that. I am on that AJ bandwagon but it was start do to a statement made in LB's can be a bust. so i stuck this here based on the idea that the one pick this year that gets a 90% of the best player available based on their skills and not hype of what could be is ferguson from experts all around the nfl and draft so called experts. Not even Tony Manderich got this kind of review. Roaf did but the knock was the level of comp. he had in college.

Plus still can get a decent LB in 2nd round, no matter what.
