You can stop with the Leinart pulling an Eli BS now.

One concern the Saints don't have, at least from the viewpoint of Leinart's agent, Leigh Steinberg, is Leinart trying to avoid being taken by a franchise whose future beyond 2006 is in doubt, much as Eli Manning did with the San Diego Chargers in 2004 when he, in effect, forced a trade to the Giants.

"That's not going to happen with Matt Leinart," Steinberg said. "New Orleans is a classic city with a wonderful heritage, which I am sure will rebuild.
"What we know of Sean Payton is very positive, and the Saints are a team with some pretty terrific offensive weapons. If New Orleans is interested in Matt, then I am sure Matt will be interested in them."
From the Times Picayune article entitled Saints passing on QB situation for now by Ted Lewis.

Look for a new angle now haters.

Thanks for the post, whodi.

I was one who brought up the possibility of Leinart or another top pick snubbing New Orleans. I'm not sure what your "haters" comment means. But to bring up that possibility certainly wasn't out of line or not worthy of consideration. To me, anyhoo.

Well i was never hating when i suggested that is what he might do. I was only reiterating what countless PTIs, Around the Horns, Chris Mortensons and John Claytons had suggested. It's kinda hard to ignore those guys when they deliver so often. That's good to hear though.

Hey winwin, i don't know why you are taking so many shots at Leinart's character. The guy made one comment immediately after the biggest game of his life. I bet you put any college kid in that situation and they say the same thing. You can pick apart anyones character if you want. What about vince young striking a mock heisman pose with the crystal ball after the game? Clearly that shows vince, during his greatest victory of his career was still upset about not winning the heisman, an individual award. What does that say about him? I don't think either guy is a bad guy, they just got carried away in the emotions of the game. In the end Leinart and Bush went to the texas locker room and congradulated the longhorns, why aren't you mentioning that? You can't judge a guy by one sentence, Leinart's a good guy and a smart choice for us with the 2nd pick
