Jean-Jacques Taylor, of the Dallas Morning News, reports New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton will be allowed to interview Dallas Cowboys linebackers coach Gary Gibbs to be his defensive coordinator. Gibbs is under contract with Dallas through the 2006 season, but head coach Bill Parcells is allowing Gibbs to speak with other teams about becoming a defensive coordinator.
PARCELLS WANTS SOMEONE ELSE OR HE WOULD NOT LET IT HAPPEN! and that's what I'm talking about, a LINEBACKER COACH!

Sparano is under contract with Dallas through the 2006 season.

gibbs has done a great job with those lbs in dallas. none of them are real household names, but he seems to get good production out of them

There ya go again 25. I didn't say I wouldn't want him just that Parcells doesn't. I think he would be alot better than what we have.

i would like to see martz as the offensive coordinator... say what you want but the man made kurt warner look like a genius, and he knows how to utilize speed and field position like no other... plus his offense was designed for dome teams, which is a plus...

Martz and Gibbs would be good ofr us. We have the power to have what the Rams did, minus Warner, plus Gibbs made Dat Ngyuen a Pro Bowler, which WE tried to get....

Guys, the Jets let go of Donnie Henderson yesterday. This guy was a serious candidate for our head coaching position. How sweet would it be if he came here as our new DC?

The reason the Cowboy's are letting Payton talk to Gibbs is not because they don't want him. Gibbs' contract runs out in Feb this year so he can leave in Feb even if the don't allow him to talk to the Saints.
The other guys contract doesn't run out until Feb of 2007.
So they can keep him.

Someone need to get the facts straight.

As far as getting a offensive coordinator, Payton said that he will probably call the plays so we don't need some great coordinator. We need some very good position coaches and someone smart to come up with some good game plans. I say keep the guy we have.

From what I'm hearing, Parcells has already had Gibbs banned from the Cowboys facility....

Not because he's no longer wanted, but that Parcells is pissed.

Yeah, that was what they threw at the media. They were discussing this on ESPN radio this morning, even calling Randy Galoway to get his input, not that it was wanted or needed. When I was listening, they were in the process of sorting fact and fiction, but the guy (don't know his name, I rarely listen at that time of the day), said something to the effect of, Gibbs' already knows about the defensive changes the Cowboys are planning in the offseason. Interesting stuff.....

wow man that is some interesting stuff. i guess i can understand them mnot wanting him in there but that is funny.

Martz will not become a coordinator, he's still getting paid by the rams for being their head coach. He's not gonna give up that money for anything less than a head coach position this year. Henderson of the jets would be a good hire though!

Keep venturi, although he doesn't have a clue and looks lost, somebody has to mix the Gator Aid buckets! It's funny Venturi always looked lost and Haz looked as if he was always about to throw up. Maybe he can take Brooks with him where ever he goes.

He is taking a long time to hire someone. I mean everyone else at least has 1 assistant.

Damn, I would love to see that Tuna get really mad. I don't think Payton would be trying to get this guy if he didn't think he was going to help him win. So if I was Parcells I would be pissed too.
