Boo cut
The major disappointment at TE, Boo Williams, has been cut from the team as of today and the team will save $1 million and change on the 2006 salary cap. We are now $8.2 million under the cap.

RE: Boo cut
Sweet! Hey the Saints are not gonna have any problems with this bargaining issue right? I mean we are under as it is so i don't see a problem. Right?
|
RE: Boo cut
The Saints are in the position that is much better than some teams ala Oakland, Washington, Miami, the Jets. A lot of teams are going to have to cut a lot of really good players to get under the cap. The Saints don't really have to cut anyone at this point and we will make it under the cap by a mile. This does not mean we can expect a giant free agency spending spree however as the uncapped year next year will make contracts to high draft picks and high priced free agents very dicey.

RE: Boo cut
Can we get a link for this? I haven't seen it posted anywhere yet.
|
RE: Boo cut
This is the link for Cap status IF there's no CBA and 92 mil is the cap:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2349505 Here's the link for possible cap casualties: (bold players are already cut, i.e. Boo) http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2341755 Duece, I'm not going to do your work for you forever. :) |
RE: Boo cut
We do ask that links be posted in accordance with the article, not only to reaffirm the validity, but also to give credit to the author, if there is one.
No shocker on Boo, just a year late. ;) |
RE: Boo cut
BnB, Hey, I respect that approach. I'm just busting on Duece. If you look at my posts, you'll see I back my stuff up with the proper links for EXACTLY the reasons you give.
|
RE: Boo cut
if we cut arron how much does that save?
|
RE: Boo cut
never mind that question just looked at the second link. good good link. thanks man. well cutting arron now seems like an absolute have to. mayberry would be a foolish cut. i think the guy is still good and it doesn't save us anything to get rid of him.
|
RE: Boo cut
we should be aboe to cut both arron and todd. that puts us like 13.7-13.8 undder. then we can get rid of ernie too. sorry but that is like another mil. i like hilton.
|
RE: Boo cut
spkb, I like Hilton too. Why's it seem like people on this board don't? He played pretty well considering.
|
RE: Boo cut
i didn't realize peple didn't like him. i like him though. never mind the fact the guy is like 6-8. i think he has good hands and can play. we also have that guy from seattle meir. unless we signed him to a one year contract. but if peple don't like him on here i am not sure why. maybe they can give us some reasons. i have had people on here before change my mind so the floor is open. ladies?
|
RE: Boo cut
i do not think that people is spelled peple. please excuse the faux pas
|
New to the site but alot of good info. in the strings. I agree with cutting all the players mentioned including Conwell because I think Hilton did a good job last year. When all is said and done I expect us to be well under the cap with the wriggle room to add a big name free agent in addition to our top pick.
|
RE: Boo cut
That was a public service announcement, doesn't hurt to repeat those things from time to time.
but yes, I knew that was a joke on your part. ;) |
RE: Boo cut
BOO HOO or should I say BOO WHO? Either way I won't lose any sleep tonight.
|
RE: Boo cut
I wanna keep Brooks and Mayberry from the list.... Just hoping still haha

Anyways, I like Hilton. I believe he should be our starter. He's a big target with soft hands. I like him, and I think he'll be a lot better with Leinart putting passes on his front hip instead of AB's passes 2 feet behind him. |
RE: Boo cut
Shoulda cut Boo last year and saved the money and the IR roster spot for ANYONE else.
Go Zach. |

Yea and now Boo can start his new career on Dancing with the Stars. lol |
RE: Re: Boo cut
He was a Star??????????????
|
RE: Re: Boo cut
bye bye boo. deadwood floating away. Hilton will develope into a good TE with more blocking drills and game time.
Mier came to us from Tenn not Seattle. It will be interesting to see if he can return to the player he was before the injury. This is his last year under contract so he should have a good reason to perform $$$$. He is better as a blocker than reciever. Career high 25 passes for 127 yards and a pair of touchdowns. |
it was about time Boo W was cut. Never become the Tightend he should had. What a waste.
