He could fall into the second round. I haven't seen him play but what do you guys think.

He won't... and he's my favorite linebacker in this draft.

RE: Chad Greenway

Most experts say he is falling due to a bad combine. I want to know more about him.

RE: Chad Greenway

here some info

Quote:

Position: Linebacker
School: Iowa

Status: Senior

Height: 6-4

Weight: 245

40-Yard Dash: 4.55(est)

Positives:
Chad Greenway is a top-of-the-line tackler anywhere on the field; he will rarely miss a tackle. His speed allows him to drop back into coverage as well as anyone, and he can run with any tight end in the league. Greenway should be a true sideline-to-sideline linebacker in the NFL.

Also, he is one of the more cerebral linebackers in the college ranks, showing good field vision. His combination of skills could allow him to play as an inside 'backer in the NFL, something he has done at times for Iowa, but his size is not ideal for the position.

Negatives:
Greenway had major reconstructive knee surgery after spring camp in 2002, which could be a concern for teams looking to draft him. While he can penetrate into the backfield as well as most linebackers, he usually doesn't seem explosive enough to be a sack artist from the edge, though he penetrates well enough to stop the run. His speed and aggression may lead him to over-pursue plays early on in his career.

Overview:
Greenway was named a first-team All-American in 2004 in addition to his second-team nomination in 2003, and is a preseason All-American this year. He was also named to the all-Big 10 team the past two years, as well as earning a place on Iowa's "Hustle Team" in each of the last two seasons. Chad was a potential low-end first-round selection for the 2004 NFL draft, but he elected to remain with Iowa as they attempt to win the Big 10 title and chase a spot in the National Championship

RE: Chad Greenway

I have read on ESPNInsider that he had a poor combine (his 40-times were around 4.7-4.8) and as a result will most likely fall to the bottom part of the first round. Still a first-rounder, but doesn't look as good as first projected.

That is what I read Deuce, and I got to thinking that as unpredictable the late first round can be what would happen if he did slip. I guess everyone would love him in a Saints uni. as a 2nd round pick.

He is a game player not a workout guy.

He or Bobby Carpenter could slip to us in the early second round. Either of them would be a great choice at that pick.
