Why come here if we do not have a plan to fix the OL in order to protect that shoulder. It is not just one last contract he has to think about. But Spoon blows us off and if Brees follows, it supports the fear that the city is a major reason for not signing FAs. So maybe the NFL should have given us that extra cap exemptions that were discussed earlier in 2005. This could be part of the 20 million buy out plan the NFL put up for Tommy Boy. God only knows

The Associated Press reports free agent QB Drew Brees (Chargers) left New Orleans Sunday, March 12, without a contract offer from the New Orleans Saints. Brees said New Orleans' rebuilding from Hurricane Katrina would not dissuade him from coming here. He said he helped build programs in Purdue and at San Diego that had been down and that the challenge of rebuilding in New Orleans appealed to him. He is now on his way to Miami.

...on a related note, by drafting Leinart, the Saints actually fill 2 spots, since Leinart is a lefty, and Jamal Brown would be covering Leinart's blind side, eliminating the need for a tackle, as I think Gandy can handle the "reverse" right tackle position...

Interesting observation on the "Reverse Right Tackle" Tobias, I hadnt thought about that really. I'd like to see us get Brees but not at 10 mil a year... and it does seem like my wish list is getting thinner and thinner while we sit and wait, wondering when theyll sign anyone... someone!

Brees will be a Fin. The Offense Line coach that built his protection in San Diago is where....You guessed it Miami. He improved that line last year. With Mc MIchael's and Chambers who would you rather be thowing to?
