Concerns:
I been Reading your post on here for over a year just having been posting....... I like the signing of brees now even tho i havent before now what you think williams or Hawk.......................... For me Williams........What bout you |
RE: Williams or Hawk?
Brick, we need a new OL to protect Brees and get us a running game.

RE: Williams or Hawk?
HAWK
|
HAWK, HAWK, or, HAWK.
How many years now has LB been a glaaaaaaaaaaaaaaring need for our team? DJ Williams, missed out, Jon Vilma, missed out. Derrick Johnson, passed on. AJ HAWK?? |
Brick
|
Brick, he owned Williams all through the senior bowl. If he's handling every pass rusher coming out of college this year, he's got to have a shallower learning curve on the next level.
|
Williams shouldn't even be a consideration. We've got our ends. Hawk or Ferguson. I'm pulling for Hawk. The guy's got Brian Urlacher written all over him.

The impulsive choice for me is Hawk. We haven't had an impact LB in years. It just seems like a position that has been flat out neglected. And Hawk is just that, an impact player. He's been timed running a 4.38 (not at the combine) in the 40-yard dash. He was hands down the best LB in college football. Everytime I saw him play, I saw him around the ball. In the UT game I think he had like 3 sacks, 1 fumble recovery and 1 interception. In the Fiesta Bowl I know he had an outstanding game. Really, I think choosing Hawk is the sexier pick.
However, I don't think you can go wrong with Brick. This guy just absolutely dominated EVERY good DE at the Senior Bowl. That's including Mathias, Mario Williams, and everybody else. He's the less sexy pick because of his position, but I don't think that selecting him would be bad. I think he's going to be a perennial Pro Bowler. |
Shawne Merriman was pretty much strictly a 3-4 guy. We never would have selected him.
|
BRICK!!! There is still good LB's in the second, but there is a bigger leap from Brick and Justic down to the others. I really like D'Qwell Jackson.
|
brick in the first and hodge in the second. i like that if we are taking brick first
|
I think we should get some one on D with first one then second take a lineman..........
EIETHER WAY WE NEED TO TRADE DOWN AND GET ANOTHER 2ND AND MORE..... But with our luck our clock would run out and we wouldnt get no one....... dont we need another corner? i would like to see woodson in a saints uni....... You hear bout the vickings new uniss |
Hawk for me.
Haven't had any respect on D since Mills left. |
We must protect our investment. Talk about circle the wagons we circle the howiitzers. Can't touch Brees and holes for Duece. Brick

at the #2 spot only Mario or Brick. I prefer the thought of brick bookending with jammal for a decade. Hawk is special but more likely #5 to #7. I would never be disappointed with him tho whether #2 or in a trade with the jets for #4.

Not a big fan of drafting Hawk, Brick, or Williams in the top 4. I don't like going OL this high in the draft, we're solid at DE, and Hawk was the 2nd best lb in his conference last year. Ideally I'd like to see Bush fall to #2. Otherwise, trade with Oakland and pick up Hawk if he's still there or Davis and give Brees a TE similar to what he had in SD.

Why would we even waste our top pick on a defensive end. We have two good ones now. We have to go with either Hawk or the Brick House.
|
Hawk or D'Brick either is good for me..If it was me in the FO I could not make that decision
|
brick no doubt, let's start up front and then go defense all the way
|
Hawk. In the second either Winston, Greenway, Carpenter. Or maybe Maroney he may fall

I think any time you start drafting for need instead of BPA you get in trouble. If the Saints trade down, and Mario Williams is still there, you have to take him. By taking Williams, you are getting the best defensive player in the draft, and he would be an upgrade from Charles Grant. The defense will be better if Williams is the pick. And, if the Saints ever decide to move to a 3-4 both Williams and Smith are suited to play the outside LB spots. Hawk will be good, but I think he'll slide out of the top 5.
|
Definitely trade down and take Hawk... were talking about an impact LB, something we havent had since the dome patrol days. I know Mark Fields was a ProBowler and yadda yadda... but I dont think hes in the same class as those guys... they all went to the ProBowl, the same year!! Man, I'd love to see something like that again
|
I have always preached defensive speed. If Hawk's 4.38 in the 40 is true? No question we get Hawk.
|
we could get a good lb in the 2nd round..... i really want out o-line to be good Brick is who i want..... but i wouldnt be mad if we got Hawk....
|
BRICK, Brick.
No way a DE hope your kidding. Get a LB in the second, and then a corner with our other second that I hope we can get from da Jets. Would also love a DT, but this years draft is very thin at DT. If we can sign another Lb in FA, then we can try to get a Center in the second. |
I think this depends on what get done in free agency. I'm a big fan of Hawk, since I saw him crush a RB on the goal line and keep him from getting a TD. I'd like to see us sign a few OL, but it isn't as much of a need as LB. By picking Hawk, we not only fill a need, but we get one of the best LB prospects in a few years. Last year I wasn't really that excited about Derrick Johnson, but the year before I was a huge supporter of Vilma. I feel as strongly about Hawk making an impact as I did about Vilma. I'd like to see us move back a few spots to get some more picks and still be able to get Hawk.

Neither... Matt Leinart.
