I can't believe the hatred in your hearts. We had the same bumbling idoit stuff going on when your beloved Archie Manning was quarterback yet you worship him? Brooks gave all of you the highest moment in Saints history and if for nothing else, you should at least wish him well. All of last year I read on another board how great Peyton Manning is yet during his biggest moment, he laid a golden egg...he's a whopping 1-6 in the playoffs yet you guys worship him? Now you're worshipping a guy that I have to admit I like but he's the biggest 60 Million Dollar gamble in the history of the Saints. I hope he can get away from the rush because if the Saints don't do something major like D'Brickshaw in the draft, Drew won't last 5 games behind that defensive line that now has a gapping hole at center. So bask in your moment to say the cruelest things about the guy that brought you 5 good years of his life but be careful what you ask for...you now have your Brees...I wonder why San Diego let him get away?
First of all, I'd like to welcome you to the boards. Secondly, I hate to have to be one of the ones to initiate you like this, but here goes.

I don't worship Archie Manning. Never have, never will. I don't even like the guy. As far as Aaron Brooks is concerned, I don't hate the guy, but I'm sure as hell glad he's no longer our problem. Watching the enigma he was where he could be lights out one game and then the light burn out the next got old quick. If he had the same amount of brains as he had physical talent, the guy would one of the best QB's ever. Unfortunately, the guy was a few french fries short of a Happy Meal. I cringed every time I saw him drop back to pass, because you never knew what kind of decision he was going to make. Normally, it wasn't a good one. As for Brees, I'm trying to figure out how he isn't going to make it 5 games behind the DEFENSIVE line. He plays offense the last time I checked. I don't know what Peyton Manning has to do with your post, but he shouldn't even be mentioned for this situation. It's not like he is playing for us. Sorry for busting your chops, but it's to be expected here in a forum full of people who are Anti-AB.[/quote]

O.K., I'll be the 1st honest one to reply to this. I hate that smiling biyatch!! It wasn't just the fact that "he was a great QB on a mediocre team." It was the bashing of Kyle Turley he gave to the media after that Jets game where Turley saved his dumb arse while the Jets were trying to decapitate him. Should of let 'em break his neck, Kyle. Or how about the last game of the season a few years back when our playoff berth was on the line & he hurt his shoulder. Did he come out that game? Nope, he refused to leave the game, because he knew Delhomme would come in, lead the team to victory, & take his job just as he had done to Jeff Blake a few years earlier. So he stayed in & threw ground balls to his receivers & helped us lose the game & our playoff spot. And I won't even bother to mention all the turnovers at crucial times in games. So, yes, I'm basking in the moment of the release of a want-to-be QB who has brought myself & other Saints fans misery for the past 5 years.

dulplay 03-15-2006 10:07 PM

Word. Good Riddance!!! I will be highly pissed if he goes somewhere else and lights it up though!

saintswhodi 03-15-2006 10:46 PM

Does anyone really believe this SkipThomas guy hasn't been here before? I'll make it real clear to ya bro. F$%# Aaron Brooks. That dumb ass should have been cut two years ago.

dulplay 03-16-2006 12:56 AM

Yer damn skippy... I really think that year, was the one. Yea, maybe Im crazy... but the offense was scoring a ton of points, and I dont think Jake would have missed a beat. I know that its been discussed before, but damn! why was that clown allowed to play injured despite a more than capable backup on the sidelines??? I dont think it was his decision alone to keep playing, but his huge ego played a part.

I wish you were still the Saints QB, but since you are not I still wish you well AB.

i'll say it, i hate that smiling son of a *****, and all you true saint fans out there do to. good bye and good riddence. i am not a hateful person, but let me kick you in the nuts once a week for 6 years and see how much you like me. to hell with him and who ever likes him. i have a couple of you new posters i'd like to call out but we are in the wrong forum for that. ding dong the ***** is dead.

Now that statement just goes a little too far. Just because I don't have hatred for AB, DOES NOT mean that I'm not a true Saints fan. You can ask anyone in this forum over the last 3 or 4 years that I've been a member how much of a fan I am.

All of my answers are honest....I say what I mean. I sugarcoat nothing. Just because one person doesn't feel exactly the way you do, doesn't mean that you're the first honest person to reply.

See ya Brooks, dont let it hit you on the way out...........................

TG BIG

TG BIG - - - Thank God Brooks is Gone . . . Somebody thump my 'nads so I know I'm still alive. This makes me proud to be a Saints fan.

Hey jrmllb . . . check out the bus now, just for you!

3 down and one to go. Sombody in Choclate City needs to go see the VooDoo Lady down in the quarter to get a Benson doll and a BIG needle! The Ripple will be flowing now.

FanNJ 03-16-2006 08:29 AM

RE: TG BIG

I'm not a Brooks hater never was, but I have to admit that it is time for a change of pace for him and the team. He probably will go on to be a pro bowl quarterback, in a different city and with a different team and I wish him well.

I am surprised by the fact they did it now when it will hit the cap harder than June 1st, but my guess is that it will help to leave the door open for the draft and keep teams guessing, as there is a need for a backup or starter should Breese not be able to go.

As for the 60 Million dollar waste comment, Actually at worst it is a 10 Million waste if Brees can't go because of the way the contract is structured, so if you add up Howard an Boo Williams salaries alone last year. It's a wash.

FatiusJeebs 03-16-2006 08:58 AM

RE: TG BIG

Wow. Been gone for a day and I come back to the ultimate stress release program of the year. Well...I too did not hate Brroks but....I was also getting tired of mediocrity at the position. I always said he had tools but in his case its true...his attitude just was not that type of hard-nosed leadership that the Saints needed. I have been a Brees fan since he was at Purdue. I always hoped the Saints would have drafted him but this will do just fine. Although I'll admit to being a tad nervous about his injury I am definitely excited to see this guy on our team.

Now....since BnB and Ghandi are hoggin the hooka...I brought my own with like 8 tentacles and tons of oregano...who's cookin with me?!?

RE: TG BIG

I never hated Brooks, so I'm not going to bash the guy. It was definately time for him to go, and I'm glad the Saints did this, but he was the qb for our only playoff win... However, it was definately time for both parties to go in different directions and start all over. So, I'm going to take a page out of the Chargers fans books and wish him well like many did for Brees on the SD forums.

I agree with saintbuck, and i think there are more true fans out there. We need to rise up against the rest of the pollitically correct world and say i hope Aaron Brooks plays for someone in our division so we can pound on him and see if he smiles then.

Watch what you ask for because the pounding usually comes back to us when a player is released and goes on to flourish elsewhere. Must be the curse and all.

milesc44 03-16-2006 11:46 AM

YES!!! There IS a God!!!
Let him go and mess up someone else's team!!!

..yeah, well, they also say "history repeats itself" and "you can lead a horse to water..."

... I guess we'll soon find out, with all these teams in need of QB's knocking on Brooks' door..
