already a thread on him
|
Hmph. Not too bad I guess. Three years seems like a lot however for a guy this mediocre. I thought we would have signed him to a one-year deal. Oh well...
Is Zach Hilton going ot re-sign with us? |
I know that his stats aren't that spectacular, but starter experience counts for a lot.
|
Dont get me wrong, I, with the rest of you , would love to get an Antonio Gates, but I think with this guy we will be ok. If all of our weapons are healthy, a so-so tight end would suffice.
|
Campbell is noted mostly for his blocking. Hilton will still be our guy in the passing game.
|
Are we going to re-sign Hilton?

i dunno if there is a record somewhere if they offered him the tender. i think if he is still listed as RFA at this point they must have. the move looks more like a lamont hall replacement to me. ditto on conwell. seems like he was a good enough guy but he was injured too frequently and seemed to drop more the more critical the play was.

Hilton is a restricted FA. We will be able to match what ever offer he gets.

2005 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc.
Grade: 71 | Key Alert: D Comment: Is an efficient blocker. Has good toughness and above average strength. Takes good angles and does a consistently good job of getting in position. He fights to finish and is feisty. Plays with a mean streak. Is aware and instinctive. Does a good job of releasing quickly off the LOS. Shows some good moves when releasing versus the press. Has an excellent feel for getting in his QB's vision and will do a good job of coming back to his QB as a receiver. He is a big target in the middle of the field. Very efficient and reliable as a short-to-intermediate receiver. He has adequate-to-good size but is by no means massive. He does not have good deep speed. Is not a threat to stretch the field vertically. Struggles to adjust to the deep ball and does a poor job of catching the ball thrown over his head. He isn't much of a threat after the catch and usually just gets what is available. |
I guess the Lamont Hall era is over.
|
I like he is a blocker, gonna love having him and Karney in for Deuce and Bennett. Can't wait foer the draft and season!
