RE: Brees on BDSS
Damn, great interview. The more I hear from Drew Brees the more I am ridiculously impressed by him. Gentlemen, if I can predict one thing that has come from our offseason acquisitions thus far, it is this: we have signed a QB who cares not only about the team and winning, but also about the city of New Orleans, and he's never going to be a guy to give up on the team or take losing lightly. Thank goodness I'll never have to see a smile from Drew Brees after a bad play. THis is a guy who has been trying to prove himself his whole career. He chose Purdue instead of Texas, and people doubted that he'd become a good QB, but he eventually got drafted. When he was with the Chargers, people were doubting that he would turn the team around, and he became a Pro Bowler and sent them to the playoffs. Then, the CHargers got Rivers, and obviously the organization doubted that he would be able to produce better than the rookie, but he just had another winning season. So I am so happy that we have Drew Brees instead of our old QB. This is a guy who hates losing, and will never compromise and say to himself "well its ok that we lost, because I got my money." People are saying that he made a mistake leaving SD, but he tells them that they're going to eat their words. He's saying it's his "calling" to be in NO, and that the reason he's here is because the Saints had as much confidence in him as he has in himself. I can't wait to get a Drew Brees jersey.

I agree, I feel he's genuine when talking about the team and the city, we're luckey to have signed him. |

Oh geez is everyone going gay for him or what... he didn't turn the team around in SD if he did they wouldln't have ended up with LT, whom I might as well point out to you people is the reason that team turned around.

Well I guess I am right..............http://football.about.com/od/nfldraf...result2001.htm

thus another yawn.
examing SD message boards it is hard to find a brees is a bum note. mostly gratitude, admiration, and appreciation 66% at least. some are supportive of the smith decision and believe capwise it was the right, even if painful move. even those usually note the impact of brees though. it is hope there that rivers can come around now. the role brees has had is not diminished with that by the majority. |
Is everyone sleeping in here? Yawn!!!!!!

i think it is captain sunshine in SD that is putting us down Cher. hohum. we've had a QB to ***** n moan about for a few years. i'm not ready to annoit brees as savior but i certainly am giving him and the new regime full support until i see results that cause me to feel otherwise.

...and which player on the chargers was the preimer player at his position, ya have to say LT.
However my point is to wait and see what happens, they haven't even played a game yet to appoint him savior yet. |

I'm just posting here again to be sure no one misses the opportunity to hear this Brees interview. It isn't earth shaking, but damn it is good to hear the representative for the team speaking so boldly, positively, and even coherently. Hell, just seeing our players on national shows is refreshing- and being shown repsect and admiration on top of that to boot.
and I found this too: Nickname Cool Breeze What is your favorite movie? Caddyshack What is your favorite food? chicken-fried steak Few people know that: I'm 1/16 Comanche Indian Who is your favorite musician or musical group? Creed |
Thanks for posting the link Kelly, (most) ppl here enjoyed it I'm sure.
