The Value of a Draft Pick
It took some time and research, but I've finally found a chart that list the value of various draft picks: http://www.nfldraftblitz.com/pick_value_chart.htm According to the chart, the value of our 2nd overall pick is 2600 points. The value of the Jets 4th and 29th overall pick is 1800 and 640 points, respectively. Their picks total value is 2440. The Titans 3rd and 39th overall picks hold a total value of 2710 points. In other words, the Saints should take nothing less than the value of either of these two deals. Unless, they are offered a 1st this year and a 1st next year.

I can see the enticement of a first now and one next year, but I think no matter what, you take the deal for the immediate. Even the Titans package of picks nets us the ability to take who we want in the first, then have good angle of attack on another big name in the second rnd.
Geez, it really is nice to finally talk about the Saints from the position of active rather than passive. |
2710 points cannot stop the run or catch a pass...
... but the BCS does it, and they are ***holes... |
and a pick for the following draft is dimished by approximately half is how that is calculated. ya should have asked mjf, we have been circulating the value chart for years.
there is also the factor of how bad one team wants to move up. go figure how much premium NO paid to get sullivan and you can get haslett sick allover again. |
a first round pick in next years draft is worth 800 pts, and i could have posted the chart for you if u would have asked for it... ive been using one for the past 3 years...
