Farve was not informed he was to announce his discision.

According to nfl.com Farve was not informed he was suppose to announce whether he was going to retire April 8th. His family's personal assistant announced to the media he would without his knowing of it until that day. Heres the link. http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/9371597

I've been saying this since the day of the conference. IT WAS FOR HIS CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT!!!! HE SAID SO DURING THE #^&@ING PRESS CONFERENCE!!! THE MEDIA IS JUST CREATING "NEWS"!!!

Favre is a great player, but lets get real. I am so sick of him either retiring or not retiring. I had about enought of him. This stuff has been going on for a few seasons now. Dude just needs to make a decision. If he wants to stay in Hattiesburg and mow his grass, no big deal. If he wants to go back to Green Bay, no big deal. Either way, I wish he would either make a decision or stay out of the freaking news. His deal is getting old very quick...

Wow...I've been a Farve fan from the beginning. I believe neither he nor the Packers are handling this situation very well. Who's running the show in Green Bay? If I was in charge we would have a decision already. Farve shouldn't be allowed to talk about what has or hasn't been added to the arsenal. Either you're with us or you're against us. They should tell him what day his jersey will be retired and move on. He should in turn be professional enough to say, "it's been a honor and a privilege to be a Green Bay Packer but now it's time for me take one more shot with a team that has a chance to win this year." Or he should just hang it up and go back to Kiln, MS and enjoy the rest of his life as a local hero. I feel really bad for Mike McCarthy because while he's trying to gain control of his new team, a certain hall of famer is holding him and the rest of his team hostage. I'll always look back admirably at how Brett Farve played the game but this will not go down as one of his shinning moments.

Brett is pulling everybodies chain right now and he is enjoying it. I said it once and i will say it again, THE PACKERS SHOULD CUT HIS HILLBILLY ASS!!!!!!

Has anyone heard of DAMAGE CONTROL! Doesn't want to tarnish his now tarnished reputation. Too late Mr. Favre.

You can type all the caps you want.. yes, he did say it was for his charity golf tournament DURING the press conference. The problem is, he told no one BEFORE the press conference that it was going to be about the charity golf tournament.

Common sense should tell you that if the press conference is being held during his charity event, then that is the purpose of said conference. If you even saw the press conference you could notice the frustration in fis facial expressions, and hear it in his voice. It was obvious that he was not happy with being asked questions about his possible retirement. Of course, as I said, you would know if you saw it.

Common sense does not tell you that. We are in April, workout minicamps have just been held, the draft is coming, you don't know what the Packers are thinking as picking a QB in the draft, the "will he or won't he" soap opera has been playing since the end of last regular season four months ago. When an announcement comes out that "Brett Favre is calling a press conference" the last thing that pops on anyone's mind is Favre's golf tournament.

"The Brett Favre Foundation is calling a press conference " is very different from "Brett Favre is calling a press conference". Besides, there was speculation in all mayor media outlets for many days (if not weeks) before the conference that Favre was going to make an announcement about his NFL career in said conference, and Favre and/or "his camp" had plenty of time and opportunities to clarify what the press conference was going to be about, but they chose not to.

The most dangerous place on earth is between Brett Favre and a TV camera.

The guy isn't retiring, he loves the circus too much. He wants at least one more year of slurping. John Madden talking about "how much fun he's having", Dan Marino saying, "he should play until he doesn't want to play anymore", the Fox guys making excuses for his dumb decision making and bad play. 2006-7, one more year of slurping Brett Favre.

It's all the medias fault...I mean come on who needs to see a freaken Press confrence. Announce it on one of those little banners accross the bottom of the screan. I'm tiered of the freking media. this Sh!t is not an event nor is it breaking news.

LongTimeFan 04-14-2006 08:47 PM

He's just lucky I'm not the Packer GM because I would have cut him by now, he's making the Packers look like fools..
