RE: if lendale white falls to 34.........
man that would be a tough one to pass on... i mean i know we have alot of depth at RB but white at 34 is a steal... in my opinion he is the best nfl prototype back.... big bruising and he does has some speed... not alot but enough and he is a TD scoring machine...i guess it would be if we are taking BPA or if we are going for need... but they say that BPA is better... so

RE: if lendale white falls to 34.........
It depends on what we do with the first pick or two (if we get the Jets' #29). I wouldn't want Williams and then RB or Leinart then RB. It's tough. Might get a nice offer for that pick if another team falls in love with him, but the value is there, even with a torn hamstring. Hard to say

RE: if lendale white falls to 34.........
Take him. Duce is the only inbetween the tackles runner we got.
You hear about weight issue now. Oh my god he is 245 now not 235. Is this a sign of his lack of heart? This kid played at 245 - 255. Injury has limited his workouts, so what. Drop in a tape and watch him. he will not be there at 34. I will find the link, i hope, interview with white and this stupid wieght issue drummed up by espn (I bet) |
RE: if lendale white falls to 34.........
But White suggested that he actually weighed far more, 252 pounds, for the Rose Bowl national championship game against Texas.
In his three college seasons, White carried 541 times for 3,159 yards and 52 touchdowns. He also added 31 receptions for 331 yards and five touchdowns. A strong runner between the tackles and bullish when he got into the secondary, he ran for more than 1,000 yards in both 2004 and 2005 and was a perfect complement to the more elusive Bush. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft0...ory?id=2407977 |
RE: if lendale white falls to 34.........
i'll let you know my feelings once he officially runs a 40.
|
RE: if lendale white falls to 34.........
i dont really care about his 40 time... he isnt a breakaway type of guy he is a hit the hole drag the pile guy for about 5 yards...
|
RE: if lendale white falls to 34.........
Whats bad about that? If the hole is opened, something our backs have not seen in years, he is gone for that 40 before those tiny secondary guys have to gang tackle him.
|
RE: if lendale white falls to 34.........
i'm not a guy that hangs on measurables, people knocked michael clayton for his 40, but we all knew his football speed was faster than that, because we watched him for years at LSU. White has avoided an official recorded 40 time for his entire college career, makes me want to see it even more, if that makes any sense.

In a word, HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pass.
|
ditto
|
I see him in denver at 22. colts or steelers will not let him drop to the second anyways
|
He would be tempting but from a need stand point, pass. We have other positions that need to be addressed. OL and a young corner to develop. With the signing of Bennett, we have 3 good backs under contract already... don't need a 4th.
|
I'd be shocked if he lasted that long, but who knows, he's been taking a beating over his attitude the last few weeks. I can't imagine the Broncos passing on him with one of their picks.
But even if he were there at 34, I'd rather have the best available LB. Abdul Hodge, Bobby Carpenter, Chad Greenway, Thomas Howard, really whoever's there at 34. In a perfect world, I'd like to see us trade down a bit and pick up an extra 2nd rounder or a 3rd. I'm starting to get really interested in Chris Chester OG/C from Oklahoma. Mike D think highly of him. |
Pass....There's enough depth at runningback as it is. Why make it deeper when there are so many other positions lacking talent and depth?
|
Ummm let me think about it ..... NO!!!!!
|
He will not last past Pittsburgh. That's for sure!
|
I think White is going to the steal of the draft. He is seriously free falling, and may go second or even third round. The team that pulls the trigger on him should be able to reap great rewards. It really stinks for him, at one time he was a top 10 pick and has been falling ever since. A ripped hamstring does not help his cause...
|
i heard the guy has shown up out of shape. heres a thought, do we really need a sully in the backfield
|
sully in the backfield....good thing Haz isn't still around. that may have been his next gambit.
I think White will get his s*** together, but even if he did fall to us, we have too many other needs to address with the limited picks we have....I think Haz would have done it, but not Payton. |
The dude tore a hamstring. Nobody runs with that. That's why he's gained weight.
I will say this again: He will not go past Pittsburgh in the 1st round. |
well ghandi i just read that too but please man don't act like you are a visionary. it is new news

i know ghandi i am just breaking balls

...heard on the local radio that he Panthers like him, so he probably won't make it to the 2nd round, but who knows... anyway, the Saints have enough RB's as it is..
