Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports due to the absence of Tennessee Titans QB Steve McNair, QBs Billy Volek and Matt Mauck ran the team's two practices at their organized workouts Wednesday and Thursday April 12 and 13, when the team began to put in subtle offensive and defensive changes from last season. "Billy and Matt are running things, splitting reps and doing well,'' Fisher said. "Billy had a real good day (yesterday).''


Titans | M. Randall playing linebacker

Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports Tennessee Titans S Marcus Randall has been playing outside linebacker. "He has done a number if things, he has moved around. He came in as a quarterback, moved to safety. I'd like to think this is his spot,'' head coach Jeff Fisher said.

I never thought Randall would be an NFL QB, but a LB. Wow.

MAtt Mauck shoulda sticked with Baseball....

LB is a good move for Marcus Randall. He cannot turn the ball over if he's on defense!

I honestly don't think Mauck wants to play professional sports period. He has his heart set on being a dentist. However, he's not dumb enough to turn down hundreds of thousands of dollars for a few years before hitting dental school.

I put this post in here cause I figure I might get called an LSU Homer with this post...

Since I really doubt we're gonna take Leinart with the #2 I like the idea that some on here have posted that our GM is actually doing something smart, football related, and causing some teams (Titans, Jets?) sweat over getting the QB they want. The only problem I have is that if we think that, and some draft "experts" think that, the Titans and Jets might think that, too.

Anyway, if we could get lucky, and have the Jets give us their #4, #29, and 3rd rounder here's what I'd like to see happen -

We need a play-making LB since we haven't had one since the Dome Patrol - Hawk.

We're weak at DT, but also need a new C - Either Mangold with the 29th and LSU's Claude Wroten with the 2nd rounder, or vice versa.

We need a RT - Andrew Whitworth is big, mean, and a smart player, who is very durable - played 52 games at LSU (more than any other LSU player ever) and never missed a practice.

Kyle Williams will also be available if we don't get Wroten, and we can get Williams later.

Yes, I know I'm loading up our class with LSU players, but I've watched Whitworth and Williams for 4yrs and Wroten for 2. They're all All-SEC players and a couple All-Americans. They can play, they're in our own backyard so evaluation shouldn't have been a problem, and they're all Louisiana boys.
