Wants and Needs: The Saints have several glaring voids, each of which could be filled nicely with the second overall pick. They lost Pro Bowl center LeCharles Bentley and traded away starting left tackle Wayne Gandy over the offseason, leaving some gaping holes on their offensive line; sure, they moved Jammal Brown over during minicamp, but when you're staring a 10-year stud at left tackle in the face why rock the boat? Despite having spent four first-round picks on defensive lineman already this decade, the Saints could use a tackle or a pass-rushing presence. And given the state of the Saints, it wouldn't hurt to make a big splash with a Heisman winner. Later on, there are needs across the board defensively and depth concerns on the offensive side.

Potential Selections: Logic points towards New Orleans tabbing D'Brickashaw Ferguson with their top overall selection, but Mario Williams and Matt Leinart can't be ruled out. Neither can a trade down to acquire more picks and still end up with a player who can help immediately. With their only other day-one selection, the Saints could replace Bentley with Nick Mangold or beef up their secondary with whichever talented corner slips out of round one—Jonathan Joseph, perhaps, or maybe Kelly Jennings. Later-round targets at positions of need could include Virginia Tech defensive tackle Jonathan Lewis, Louisville interior lineman Jason Spitz, and Florida cornerback Demetrice "Dee" Webb.

New Orleans' Picks:
Round One: 2nd overall
Round Two: 34th overall
Round Three: none (traded to Houston)
Round Four: 99th overall
Round Five: 135th overall
Round Six: 171st overall, 174th overall (from Green Bay)
Round Seven: 210th overall, 252nd overall (compensatory pick)

i like kelly jennings, u cant go wrong wit a defenisve player from the U

I am just going to be upset if the Saints only have two picks on the first day. With all the talk of players we are shopping, and the number 2 pick we are shopping, i would hate for everything to fall through and we only have 2 first day picks. That is the worst case scenario for me.
