I'm curious as to why that's disturbing. Have you ever seen Stinch play?

Other than pre-season games where he got beat by backups, no. And nothing I've ever read on him since he's been with the team gives me any kind of confidence in throwing him in against Pro-Bowl DE's at least 4 times a year.

To turn your question around: Why do you think he can play? What have you EVER heard about him that makes you comfortable with him in the starting lineup?

As far as I recall, he was set to beat out Gandy LAST YEAR before his injury for left tackle. Why would I think he couldn't play RT? Why wouldn't we even give the guy a chance? I would think if Payton felt he couldn't play RT, he wouldn't put him out there to play RT. Now if we take D'Brick, well that lets us all know what they really think of Stinch. But I am fully on board with JimBone's plan, a second round or later RT to come in compete would be just fine with me. If Peppers is on the right, then we DOMINATE the Panthers to the left behind Jamaal. We also have a smart QB who will get rid of the ball, and not hold on to it while he does the Saturday Night Fever disco spin into a defender.

Well, I'm hoping we make the trade down with the Jets. Take Hawk at 4. With a 3rd rd pick look at the T position (I'd like Whitworth cause I've seen him play for 4 years).

I didn't remember him about to beat out Gandy, though. I remember hearing he had improved, though. But I'm not comfortable with going in to the season with him at RT at this point. I'd like to see the position addressed, some competition created, and see if he can beat someone out.

I am not against addressing RT in the later rounds for compeition, I think it would be a good idea, and Whitworth is my top choice. But I am also not afraid to roll with Stinch if it came to that. I guess we'll see.

How bout we follow the Detroit Lions formula...they have 3 first rounders on their line...how good are they? With 3 first rounders on their line, a first round QB, a first round RB and 3, count em 3, first round WR's...their offense isnt good at all. And the only knock on Stinch coming out was that he had to put on weight to play tackle...i think he has done that over the last 4 years...so i say draft someone in the middle rounds, create some competition and let the best man win.

i am for giving the guy a chance. if he can play the position that is all that matters and it also helps us fill a need. like i said if he can play. gives us a little wiggle room as far as the draft is concerned if he can play the position. if mangold is there with our second rounder do we take him? i just feel that if stinch can hide down the right and brown the left and we pick up mangold, then he can either start this year or sit and we will have a pretty good line next year.

After the first pick, I see no other option but to stock up on lineman and cornerbacks. Maybe a DT if one worth anything is availible.

i think we could use a corner. obviously a lb and an oline guy

What the blue hell is this? What do Fred Booker, Aaron brooks, and Jamaal Brown have to do with either team?

You need to lay down I think. That was quite random.
