Peter King continues to be a jerk

but let's face it: Being the top pick in Houston is significantly better than being the second pick in New Orleans. Not just for the money but because of the uncertainty with the Saints. Is New Orleans a stopgap for the franchise and will the team be in San Antonio or L.A. in a year or two?
OK, I'm not sure where this "NO is the end of the world" talk is coming from. There are a lot of teams that are going to be in worse shape than the Saints over the next couple of years.

Quote:

Said a source close to Bush on Sunday: "If the Texans think they're going to rush this process with Reggie, they've got the wrong guy. Reggie is not in a hurry. If he's not the first pick, it's not the end of the world.'' And what if he's not the first pick and what if he faces going to New Orleans? "Last year,'' the source said, "Ronnie Brown made a bad deal with Miami. I guarantee you Reggie's deal won't be very far away from the first pick's deal. He might get more.''
This is crazy to me too. No GM in their right mind will pay the 2nd pick more than the first. I'd have no problem looking him in the eye and telling him he's out of his gourd if he thinks he's going to get the biggest payday in the draft being taken at any position other than 1st overall.

The big thing I took from this is that Bush might be poison. He might be the guy who decides to hold out all year. If he is on the board for us, we need to deal and let someone else face the headache.

I think whoever gets Oregon defensive tackle Haloti Ngata -- and he is inexplicably slipping, it seems -- is going to get, as history will be the judge, one of the five best players in this draft.
That settles it, no way we can take Ngata under any circumstances. The King seal of approval is the kiss of death.

I think B-n-B will agree with me on this, but Peter King is one of the biggest wastes of space in the sports world....He ranks right up there with Woody Paige and Skip Bayless with me....
Boy would I love to see those 3 fight to the death with no winner left standing.

Unfortunately, I actually don't mind reading King, but he's way off on this line. This is him trying to stand out in an article as bold. Yes i am biased, but hey, I also know a play when I see it.

I'm not even going to bring up Ngata b/c he shouldn't even be in our line of sight

Oh, yeah...and throw in Steven A. Smith, Tony Korn"holer", and Cris Collinsworth and make it a "who can actually say something without making me want to blow their brains out" contest....I guarantee none of them would make it past round one.
