Frre Agents Anyone?
It all draft talk all the time right now it seems. Just wondering if anyone has nay new free agent rumors, news, or ideas?
I saw NYG were looking at Brentson Buckner. If he has any gas at all left, would'nt he be a decent addition for a few downs a game? Is'nt Jeff Mitchell, the Panthers old center still on the market? I wonder why he hasn't had a look-see? I still think Tommy Maddox would be an excellent veteran backup QB to have. Victor Riley is unsigned LOL. He's gotta sign for the league minimum this year. --Just not here Anything left for Matt Stinchcomb? There has to be some incentive to wanna play next to your brother. Ty Law and Woodson's asking price has to get back to earth sometime. I'm not crazy about either but they are better than whoever is lining up across from McK now. I hate watching kickers get old losing range and accuracy. Help! |
RE: Frre Agents Anyone?
This whole draft thing is over-rated J/k, even so why wait until after the draft, keep bringing in vets and trying to sign some help. That allows to them to take best available over need. Still need a cb, K, d and o line. I just find it funny its a big rush at the beginning, and then a big delay until after the draft. Keep em coming NO.

I think as of right now, we still need help at CB, OC (hopefully with Mangold), and DT. Perhaps adding another OL would be smart, but I don't think it's a pressing need.

RE: Re: RE: Frre Agents Anyone?
CB depth definitely hurting. Although if we can't stop the run this year again it won't matter who we got in the secondary.

RE: Re: RE: Frre Agents Anyone?
Tommy Maddox..... you say HAHA !!!

RE: Re: RE: Frre Agents Anyone?
LKelley, I said earlier that we should take a look at Brenston Buckner. He might be old, but he is a player when healthy. I say take a chance. He would probably be an upgrade.
|
I can see taking a chance on Buckner. he's a good guy and plays strong when he can. Not a bad leadership upgrade, as well as depth.
Thank the Lord we didn't overpay for Woodson's brokedown ass!!! 10.5 mil for the first year of a guy likely to be your safety!? yikes. I know kid still has game and talent left, but no one can convince me of 52.7 mils $s worth. |
Woodson signs with GB-
The deal is being characterized as a seven-year, $52 million arrangement, it is as a practical matter a three-year, $18 million package. Depending on Woodson's performance, he could be gone by 2007 or 2008. --------- They can have him for that :grandpa: |
7 year, $52 million?!?!?!?!?! Holy hell. Thank you Bucs for shooting yourselves in the foot. Only 7 interceptions in the last 5 seasons? That's Lavar Arrington money for a Colby Bockwoldt.

And by Bucs I meant Packers
|
Ty Law must be saying "I know they will, I know they will"
|
No slug of glad we didn't pay that thoughts?
|
Talk to you about this when round 2 of FA starts. there will be some good one out there i think. with so much crying about contracts some trades will be interesting to
|
What if we could get a first round draft pick from the Bucs for Dwight Smith. Do we pull that trigger? I might say yes. First it would allow us to be in the running for another good player in the first round. With the #23 pick, we could fill that CB hole that everybody's been talking about with Jimmy Williams, Antonio Cromartie, or maybe even Tye Hill. Also, we could move Bullocks to FS and then have Bellamy at SS. That's not nearly as good, but imagine having Jimmy Williams and Mike McKenzie on the corners. And also, the real reason why I'm even considering this is because obviously Dwight Smith has fallen out of favor with the coaching staff; with his numbers last year that seems to be the only logical choice. So, we get a CB to fill that hole, and we get rid of a character-issue player that Payton apparently doesn't see fitting into this team. THoughts?

I like him as a player but it seems he is definitely on the outs with Payton & co. I do not think you could get anywhere near a first for him. A low second would be optimisitic IMO.
