Saints bring in DT
for a look-see.
The Saints also brought in free agent defensive tackle Jason Fisk, 6 feet 3, 300 pounds. Fisk started 14 games for the Cleveland Browns last season. http://www.nola.com/sports/t-p/index...6307171040.xml |
RE: Saints bring in DT
It definately wont hurt to have another big tackle on the line.
|
More info on Fisk;
Fisk, 33, who played last season for Cleveland, also was scheduled to visit New Orleans this week. At this stage of his career Fisk is best when used as a situational player on first and second down. Cleveland was forced to use him more often last season, and he wore down as the season progressed. He's a nose tackle, but at 6-3, 300, gets by more on technique than power. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/spo...9?OpenDocument |
Hmmmm....3 tackles huh? I smell 3-4! LOLOL.
|
3-4 eh?
Hmmmmm. Lets see, Grant and Smith with Fisk on the nose, then Mario Williams, Fujita, Simmons, and Buckwheat at LB.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmm all we need is another corner! LOLOLOLOLOL |
Fisk would let sully switch to other side and fisk then could come off the bench to let sully and young get a break. he has played both well. I would like it and pick up some (2) DT in the draft to learn and I hope they are taller than 6-2 for the passing downs.

Look but don't touch.

I don't know what this guy would bring to the table. At least with Woodard we got a defensive tackle who weighed 20 more pounds than Brian Young and Willie Whitehead, and as a result, will give us more of a run-stuffing force. This guy weighs the same as those two, and doesn't seem to be an upgrade over either BY or Whitehead... |
You could still bring him in to compete. He might surprise us.
|
I like the pickup, this gives us a chance to rotate the DTs and keep them fresh all season. And with Sully's fat butt Gawd knows he will need the break.
|
Have we got him or juts looking? I would like someone to challenge Sully..... can we get RID of Sully now? Or too big a cap hit or what?
|
Getting rid of Sully? I don't know about the cap hit, but the Saints would take a big hit on the cost of the twinkies they have bought to feed his fat arse. What a waste of a draft pick! :P
|
I really wish people would stop deluding themselves on this 3-4 nonsense. Ain't gonna happen. Get over it.
|
How many more years left on Sully's contract? If two, we could let him go after June 1 and spread the cap hit over two years. If we trade him, we get the cap hit right away. Economically, we're gonna have to keep him and try to get some SOME SOME kind of value from his lazy azz.
I wish there was some emoticon for supreme exasperation. |

True...and I know I am one of its biggest advocates so chances are if you see it.....you know Jeebs is lurking near by...lol. Anyhow...whodi and to all the other posters...I'm out for the day. Good luck to all of us tomorrow and lets pray the FO makes us happy. Again my scenario......try to draft down for a pick or 2....and get da HAWK! Peace!
|
I've always liked the guy. I think he was on the Titans way back when and I'd get a crap load of sacks with him on Madden. I'd be interested in him but we already signed Woodard or something like that so there's no need for another backup DT. We have plenty of those.
