RE: RD 7?
Zach Strief 6-7 349 5.42
Despite his reputation as a premier college offensive tackle, Strief is not good enough to play tackle in the NFL and is best suited to play guard. He has excellent size and natural strength and when he uses his hands aggressively he is a strong lineman who can hold ground vs. power rushers and drive defensive linemen down the line of scrimmage on down/side blocks. He is a very smart football player who consistently plays to the limits of his ability -- his smartness enables him to communicate very well with other linemen to adjust to defensive line stunts/loops. While he is a limited athlete and lacks the quick feet and agility to pass block well out on an island, he can move and adjust decently in a small area. He is a highly competitive blocker who consistently gives an excellent effort on every block. He is the type of lineman whose intangibles will enable him to be a solid backup offensive lineman in the NFL for a long time -- he can back up both guard and tackle positions. He may not be drafted because of his limited athletic ability, but he should definitely be signed as a free agent because of his size, natural strength, competitiveness, smartness and intangibles. http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2006/strief_zach |
RE: RD 7?
Not even close. Hahahaha!
Although, I kind of like the OT we picked. He comes from a good team that has a very succesful RB. |
RE: RD 7?
Ethan Kilmer WR 6'0" 205 4.35 42 vertical Penn State at 209 Cincinnati close.
:givemebeer: like i said I have not figured Payton out |
RE: RD 7?
yep nice pick.
went under my radar. |
RE: RD 7?
Last pick is coming up.
Since we've had a pretty odd draft, I say we take Brett Basanez (QB/Northwestern). I've watched this kid all season. He reminds me a lot of Delhomme. Basanez has had NUMEROUS comebacks. He's led his team back from some pretty big deficits and they've put some pretty high numbers on the score board. Brees is the starter and Martin is our backup, obviously. I say dump Bouman and continue to work on A-Mac and Basanez. http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2006/basanez_brett Then again, I'm not an NFL scout by any means. |
RE: RD 7?
I hope we get Marques Colston-WR Hofstra. I can't believe he's lasted this long.
|
Ya'll got me! I have no clue who we couldgo for.
I say Mix. from Auburn...why not develop a young TE in case Hilton wants to leave. Or maybe Havner to help on special teams |
Cameron Vaughn - LB, LSU
|
detriot anthoney cannon tulane he visited
|
Don't we still need a guy that can kick the lil brown thing in between the 2 big yellow things????? yea, Im gunna go with Huston on the last 7th rounder
|
Nick Turnbull CB 6'2" 218 FLORIDA INTL
|
Boy, we were all off - except ghandi.
|
:itsgood: gandhi1007
|
We got your boy gandhi, Colston is a solid wr. I'm surprised we went with 2 wrs in the draft but they can both catch the ball and they may be able to contribute.
|
My draft is saved!!!! I can quit eating the valiums like skittles now. Okay, Payton...faith restored.
|
Marques Colston 6-4 223 4.51 TE
Colston is an interesting prospect because of his size/speed combination. He was first graded on Hofstra film in 2003 and he jumped out and made some big plays, but then he missed the 2004 season due to injury (he redshirted the 2004 season) and then had a very good comeback 2005 season. His measurables make you think he has the speed to be effective playing outside as a receiver, but once you watch a little film it is clear he lacks the burst and speed to get separation from NFL cornerbacks and is best suited to make the switch to tight end. At tight end, he has the speed to get down the seam vs. linebacker coverage and can get separation out of cuts. He has the frame to eventually bulk up to 240-plus pounds, will be able to run strong with the ball and gain yards after contact. He will be a good runner after the catch for a tight end. Overall, Colston is going to be drafted because of his measurables and college production as a receiver, but should only be signed as a free agent because he is a 'Tweener' between receiver and tight end. He can make an NFL team now as a third tight end and special teams player and eventually could develop into a starter if he plays aggressively and raises his level of intensity on every snap. http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2006/colston_marques thought he was off the board. great pick up. WR finally getting tall |
Hey LivnaLieTimay two WR because of one thing:
Drops, I am a happy camper too. Him and Hass are two great picks |
Just watch the footage of the East-West Shrine game. This guy will sell you on his abilities.
|
yeah i too think it is another nice pick for us. really got what could be some contributers eventually on the 2nd day. i like the draft to be honest. really like it
|
Yeah, I agree with you hagan, plus Reggie has as good of hands as many wrs. With Bush, Colston and Haas we drafted 3 guys who can catch the ball on offense.
|
Donte is working on his resume right now I bet.
But henderson can not step in right now for the deep threat So do not pack those bags Donte just Yet. lovin it up here |
