NCAA | Eugene carries no expectations of being drafted
Fri, 24 Feb 2006 20:15:57 -0800

Grambling QB Bruce Eugene said at the NFL Combine he has no expectations of being drafted. "I don't have any expectations. I'm thinking like I'm a free agent. If someone drafts me, that's good. If not, oh well. All I know is that whoever invites me into camp is going to get a real good quarterback," said Eugene.

Blah. I wanted Brett Basanez from Northwestern. The Panthers got him, though. He's a 'Jake-style' QB. He put up some HUGE numbers in college.

I don't know much about Eugene. Hopefully, he's a good pickup.

He is a great pickup, Oldies. He's a better prospect than A-Mac IMO.

I am extremely high on Bruce Eugene. I told a friend before the draft that the Saints should either pick him in the 7th round or sign him after the draft, then hide him on the practice squad for at least a year. In the near future, he should be at least a decent backup. What I really like is how he is working on his negatives. The dude is only 6 foot tall and was playing at 300 lbs last year at Grambling. Right now he is reported at 260 and is working to get at 245 for training camp. Just him working on his weight shows how smart he is, and reflects his 41 on the wonderlic. If Bruce Eugene continues to work he will get a serious shot at the NFL.

I agree that at this time he may be a better prospect than A-Mac.

I remember watching that dude play! I thought Brooks had thrown it to a linemen again...that dudeis a big man, but he does have skill.

What saywe keep Brees, Martin, AMac and Eugene....wait, what about Bouman???

Why is everyone down on McPherson? I thought he was going to work out great.
