Something is fishy here

We traded Watson for a pice of poop that has chronic injuries and fills no need. Now, we're looking at trading Bennett. Does this smell funny to anyone that Rick is our GM and Randy is the Dolphins' GM and we're letting quality players go for garbage players? Looks like Rick is trying to help his brother out by sacrificing our talent. This one isn't kosher.

Quality? Hmm... I think that's debateable. No lost in Bennett or Stecker though if they are traded... we have Deuce and Bush. If and when they trade Dwight Smith, that's a different story. Until then, do your thing Payton. I hope you know what you're doing... we better see some wins this year.

DJLengai 05-10-2006 06:13 PM

I meant quality relative to the 2 players, not Watson being a great player. He's definitely better than this goombah. If we trade Smith, I'm going to slap somebody.

If we trade Deuce for Ray Finkle I'll start to worry.

Yes, but he can also play safety! :D

Atleast we're filling a need.

Actually, I don't really care. I thought Watson was crap. Replacing crap with crap doesn't really bother me. There's not a big difference between crap and completely horrible. I'd be thrilled if we upgraded, but I doubt we downgraded really far. Watson was pretty ineffective.

This trade makes little to no sense. If Moore's no good why did we get rid of Watson, who's no good?

Like I've said in the past: I like Payton, but some moves they've made are just odd. This is basically a lateral trade, and that's *if* Moore can stay healthy. (I'm going on y'alls opinion of Moore cause I don't know much about him.)

saintswhodi 05-10-2006 09:10 PM

At least Watson PLAYED. This dude doesn't even play. So yeah, completely horrible can be worse than crap. lol

LSUJeremy 05-10-2006 09:14 PM

Maybe the deal is Eddie Moore was a very highly decorated Boy Scout.

Sean Payton saw this, and said, "I gotta get me some of that!"

Maybe he was awesome in High School, because he was injured most of his college & pro careers. :?

LKelley67 05-10-2006 11:00 PM

It is just crap for crap, get rid of someone you don't want and take a shot with another. Better than just letting him walk when cut.

Watson must have really been on the outs cuz this guy was arrested for disorderly conduct in '04.

LSUJeremy 05-10-2006 11:06 PM

Maybe it sounds bad, but things like DUI with athletes really don't bother me. I know more than a few people that've gotten them. It doesn't make them bad people.

Same thing when they get in bar fights or something similar. It happens.

FatiusJeebs 05-11-2006 09:40 AM

I just read on another thread that he was arrested after a bar fight incident. Moore.....has BAAAAAAAD character...lol.

thib82 05-11-2006 10:05 AM

This doesn't seem odd to me. Payton wants players that will fit into his plan for the team. Maybe Watson wasn't going to work out. Or maybe Watson saw that there wasn't much of a chance to start, so he asked Payton to trade him. Thomas is getting older so Watson could learn from and eventually play a big role for Miami in a year or two. OR, maybe this free's up a little bit of cap room. I don't know what each was getting paid, but this is possible.

Actually, our GM is Mickey Loomis, not Rick Mueller. Loomis and Tom Benson make all of the final decisions.
