With all the dreadlocks in the back field that could get very confusing!!!

RE: Al Harris?

That would be amazing, but I don't think so. I just don't see us giving big money to him....

But just think, TWO PREDATORS!

I've always been a Harris fan so I'd definately be open to that idea.

al harris

green bay needs a WR with the loss of Dryver to the broncos
stallworth + dwight smith would free some cap space for big al to get a new deal

RE: al harris

Umm... you don't think that's giving up a bit much there? Stallworth and Smith... two impact starters for one?

no not really, stallworth is on his way out...i don't like it but come on, read the writing on the wall
dwight smith makes alot of money for a position which we are loaded with starting quality tallent
Al Harris and MM together to cover the WR's and let Smith and Grant get hits on the QB

Way too much for a 32 year old CB. WAY WAY TOO MUCH!!!!!

saintswhodi 06-23-2006 01:53 PM

WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY too much. I'd move dwight back to corner before i'd do that trade. Horrible one-sided. If Al Harris was maybe 25, MAYBE, but no way. McKenzie is what, 30, and Harris 32, how long beofre we are AGAIN looking for a starting corner. No thanks. Now if we got Harris for a 3rd round pick or something, go for it. But Stall AND Smith? Egads no.

gandhi1007 06-23-2006 05:55 PM

The "All Dreadlock" secondary. Heck yeah!!!!!! I wouldn't give Smith & Stallworth for him, though. That's way too much!!!!!!!

It is? Have you even considered what our starting receiving corps would look like if we got rid of Stallworth?

Trading Dwight and Stallworth for one guy is just ridiculous. I wouldn't mind trading Harris straight up for Dwight because of the abundance of quality safeties we have, and also because we have a huge hole at that other corner. I think Dwight Smith is one of the better cover guys in the NFC. But trading, arguably our best and most reliable WR, AND our best secondary player for one CB is not worth it.

He had the wrong dude, but he did give the right response. Sorry Deuce, but no way in hell is Stallworth our best and most reliable WR!! He may be one of the fastest, though. Either way....if we could get Harris for Stallworth head up.....pull the trigger. We are deeper at WR than most people want to believe & another solid CB would only boost the play of our defense.

gandhi, how do you justify that? Hasn't Stallworth been injury free for two years now? And didn't Joe Horn miss several games last season? I think the answer is yes.

I agree with this, but I don't believe in filling one hole by digging another.

We are? Besides Joe Horn, who has serious injury issues, name the one other WR we have that has starting experience and is GOOD. In my eyes, nobody else has proven that they are a #2 WR.

How can we anoint Stallworth as our most reliable reciever? He's been injury free for two years? Wasn't Horn injury free for a lot longer than that for us up until last year? Moreso, didn't he put up Pro Bowl numbers every year except 2003, when he did have some problems. Horn is still our best reciever(by far) and most reliable. Horn should be given every benefit of the doubt that he will come back from this with no problem in my opinion. How does Horn have "serious injury issues"? He didn't tear an ACL or break an ankle, and has actually been our most consistent offensive starter of the past 5 years for us. Stallworth did a decent job in his spot, but let's not get carried away here. I personally don't think Stallworth is good enough to make up for QB mistakes(as Horn often had to do) or good enough to warrant double teams and the like. He also seems to have a really funky attitude lately. But anyway...let's see what he does this year. Like ive said, this year we'll see if Stallworth rises to the occasion or lays an egg. I really wouldn't mind being wrong about him but I don't think I am.

But back to the topic....him for Al Harris I don't know. I'd like some more youth in the secondary personally.

D_it_up 06-24-2006 10:50 PM

Al Harris? No thanks. Taking Green Bay's top defensive back in a crowd that has been just plain horrible over the last couple of years, doesn't entice me at all.

Donte the best and most reliable receiver? Wow! I love the fact that Joe Horn gets absolutely NO respect for putting up Pro-Bowl numbers every season since he's been in New Orleans, and Donte has yet to put up Pro Bowl numbers in ANY SEASON since he's been here. Horn has had issues with injuries in the past, sure. You want to know the best part? He actually PLAYED with a lot of those injuries. How often did Donte do that? Last year's injury was a little tougher on him, so yeah, he missed some games. Donte is a better than average receiver, but by no means does that make him the best or even the most reliable.

Dreadlocks...... that what i think of when you say al harris and he is good but....... ummm not stallworth+smith good.....
