I'm not sure I am getting your point. What about reducing the payment to greedy ass Tom Benson is sugar and spice, and how could it be reported as such? They didn't need to report the reduction COULD be a deal breaker, there is already two out clauses in place. And a fairly simple one in the fact Benson just has to pay back the money already given to him. IF he already had a deal in place with Cali, I bet they are laughing their asses off at having to pay 12.5 mil less to get the team out of its contract. And the NFL already offered the state 15-20 mil in aid, if they reduced the buy-out clause by the same amount. That's pretty out in the open right there. But, the Saints were not leaving before this season in ANY scenario once they returned, so I don't see how a payment reduction is some kinda deal breaker. If anything, this is more PFT make believe, which they are known for. The REAL issue is the REAL clause in the contract stating the team can be moved, no questions asked, if Benson gives back the money he has been paid so far. Until they do away with that, everything else is ancillary details.
