WHYYYYYY
Friends tell me that we will have to pay Bennett 1 million or 1.5 mil guarenteed money even though we traded him. WTF!! So that would mean that we just bought a 4rth round pick for an million bucks from the Chiefs. Does anyone know if this is true.
If it is, this has to be the worst move by the FO this offseason. Bennett is well worth a trade for an impact player. Many teams are extremely thin at the RB position. Holla |

Even if it's true, just like all the other moves, we have the cap room this year to take the hits to move players, and it "appears" we did not need Bennett. I say appears cause Deuce still has to be back to full speed, and Reggie has to be Reggie, but, I am happy we got SOMETHING for him.

Better than what we good for Dwight Smith. I don't think it was a bad move at all. Plus we are stacking picks for next years draft. Lets face it, as excited as I am we may still end up with a top 10 draft position next year. I think we have a pick next year out of the trade with Atlanta right? With new coaches, new schemes, new QB, and one of the toughest schedules in the league, the more picks the better next year. I just take some satisfaction that SP is willing to make moves unlike the past regime.

I don't know if that's true, but even if it is, like Whodi said, at least we got something for him. We didn't need to have a third-string RB getting paid that kind of money. Also, if we do have to pay him 1 mill or whatever, we do get out of that second year of his contract which is good.

I would have kelp him for at least one year just in case Deuce has problems being we had him already..
IMO having Bennett this year would have helped us more than having KC's 4th round pick next year.. |
