Posey cut by the Bills
Buffalo Bills.com: The Bills made a decision that wasn't completely unforeseen Monday when they released veteran linebacker Jeff Posey.
Posey, who served as the starting strong side linebacker the past three seasons for the Bills, was not deemed a fit in the team's new defensive scheme. Posey's skills didn't match what the linebackers in this system are required to do. In Perry Fewell's scheme they play off the ball and need to flow to the football. It was evident even in the spring camps that Posey who is a strong, hold-the-point-of-attack kind of linebacker was not an ideal fit. The coaching staff moved him to weak side late in the spring camps, and he was running with the second team at training camp. Takeo Spikes took his strong side linebacker position and Angelo Crowell moved into the starting lineup on the weak side. "We have a lot of respect for Jeff," said head coach Dick Jauron early in camp. "The scheme that we run is clearly a little bit different. Speed is really important to us. Size is not as important to us. That's pretty much where we are." http://billsinsider.com/ LB help? we need a SLB with size to back Scott up. Price is right. no picks or trade |

Wouldn't hurt just to bring him in for a look over, you never know how things might turn out...
