Season opener should be very interesting.....

Yeah, that's right........ I am a Browns fan !!

Opening day in Cleveland vs the Saints should be a pretty good test for both teams IMO, since most folks in the media don't expect much from either team. But those who follow them closely (oh, and me, of course) know that both Cleveland and New Orleans are better than they were last season and will probably win more games than the so-called experts (idiots.....all) predict !!

I don't think it will be a particularly high scoring affair, and since I am a little biased, I see the Browns winning on a late Phil Dawson FG

Browns - 16
Saints - 14

See you in the smack forum................. 8)

Browns center Hallen retires
NFL.com wire reports
CLEVELAND (Aug. 11, 2006) -- Veteran offensive lineman Bob Hallen, who was being counted on by the Cleveland Browns to replace the injured LeCharles Bentley at center, informed the club that he has retired.

That doesn't look good, man. I hope that it's an interesting game but It looks like the Browns are in for a loooong season.

BuckeyeDan 08-11-2006 08:13 PM

Yeah, our Center situation just gets more depressing, but Ephraim didn't look too bad last night vs the Iggles.

We may have gotten your Pro Bowl Center, but we're gonna have to wait until next season to enjoy him !!

I would like to take this opportunity to wish an especially fine season (except for wk one) to Drew Brees and Donte Stallworth, both of whom are on FF teams I have !!

ha.... browns wont win.......... LOL if you think they are

Rob Smith and baxters injuries do not help matters. but hey you guys got Romeo. He will come up with something. Man knows football. It should be fun.
Your LB worry me. McGinest is one thing but he will free up Davis for even more tackles. I see him again over 100 this yearalong with Stewart. Especially with big Ted Washinton at the nose. Matt stewart better be back because alot of teams will be running at him.

Your stats dont add up^^^ Brees yardage are too less for all the yds the recievers and backs have...Here's mine

Saints 31 Browns 23
Brees 19-25 2
Deuce 17 car, 91 yds, 1 TD, long:33
Bush 10 car, 43 yds, 1 TD, 3 rec, 37 yds
Stall 6 rec, 89 yds, 1 TD
DH 4 rec, 74 yds
Horn 3 rec, 27 yds
Hilton 2 rec, 21 yds
Hass 1 rec, 10 yds, 1 TD
Hughes 1/1 from 46 yds, 4/4 xp

More realistic, please dont predict how bad our D will look for awhile in that game

D24pick 08-12-2006 01:12 PM

Excuse me Brees stats were 268 yds from 19-25 passing, and 2 TD's with no picks

thib82 08-12-2006 02:34 PM

So you guys think that Stallworth will get more Receptions than Horn? I think Horn will have 7-10 catches, and Donte will get 5-6 grabs. I think Joe will be Drews main target in the passing game.

NoBandwagonrs 08-12-2006 03:10 PM

deuce didnt have to catches and i just re added them wit a calculator and they added up :P...that last yardage thing for deuce was his longest run...but our scores were pretty close to the same :D

My "Fly in the Ointment" is I think Donte will/SHOULD be traded by opening day. We now have recievers who can actually run routes and when they get there CATCH the ball. OMG! What a concept!
Donte's "potential" has run it's course here. Sprinter's speed=Doo-Doo if you cannot catch the ball thrown to you or be in the correct place to recieve said throw.
The team will dump him while he still has some (little) trade value remaining. IMO it is the only reason he is still on the roster.

Donte to Miami PD after DUI stop: "Don't You Know Who I Am!?!"
I mean, Honestly.

I too am thinking that Stallworth will be gone before the opener, but I think we might have to cut him. I don't know if we're going to be able to get anything for him. Teams like the Eagles will be there to scoop him up.

Possibly true.
I do think that Donte has some trade value to him. Especially to a team like the Eagles who have no true #1 or even a true #2 WR on the roster.
I am just tired of players with a few years of NFL experience talked up because of their potential. You talk of Draft Picks' potential. Not Veterans.
The folks (previous coaches/coordinators) who talked this way are gone now. I want those players who had a free ride gone too if they do not produce.

D24pick 08-13-2006 02:02 AM

Thereis a possibility that Horn wont even get as many catches as Stall...Stall is the younger player, needing of more experience and Horn understands that...I see that Stall will lead the team for recievers and Horn still will have a big yr as possession catches and good deep plays and such...

RockyMountainSaint 08-13-2006 02:07 AM

Delusional you are D24.
Joe is the man.
Donte should not be on the roster come Opening Day.

hagan714 08-13-2006 05:45 AM

thats right Joe proved it again last night.

thib82 08-13-2006 07:37 AM

I don't think Donte will just be cut. I would like to see Colston and Hass play more with first team in the number 2 slot sometime in the next three weeks. Devery shouldn't, and probably won't get the start again this preseason. This Jamal guy wasn't doing bad either.
