PLAYER NEWS
Cardinals sign QB Matt Leinart Matt Leinart, QB ARI News: The Arizona Cardinals have signed Leinart to a six-year contract on Monday night, as he is the last first-round draft pick to agree to terms with his team. Analysis: Leinart is expected to battle John Navarre for the backup job to starter Kurt Warner. Navarre has not looked very good in the preseason, so expect Leinart to move into the role before the regular season begins. He is a solid first-round pick in rookie-only leagues and keeper formats, but not worth a look in seasonal leagues at this point. player news off nfl.com fantasy |

RE: leinart signed
Yeah, he came to his senses...They throw 14 million on the table to a 10th pick and he doesnt accept???
Good to see him on the team, though |
OK,
To everyone who thought Reggie Bush Would have a "lengthy holdout".......... Here is the deal. Reggie Bush DID NOT HOLD OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Matt Leinart DID NOT HOLD OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are both signed to their respective teams prior to the regular season. Historically; An NFL holdout is someone who wasn't signed to the roster of the team that drafted him by opening day! Think back 10 yrs. Draftees routinely missed 1-6 REGULAR SEASON games! The "pre-season holdout" is a media crontrived animal. It's goal is to have a story for the bloated media to write or speak about. ALL of the '06 Draft Picks are signed to their teams by August 14! That is pretty amazing considering the history of signings in the not too distant or even the recent past. Rant concluded. |

How can someone "HOLDOUT" if they don't have a contract? I'm not saying Leinart wasn't being unreasonable in his demands, but in order to holdout, don't you have to have a contract to holdout from? Until you get a contract, isn't it just negotiating?
