Carney
"John Carney is more than just the reliable leg who has made 82 percent of his field-goal attempts with the Saints, slightly better than his career average, and ranks second in team history behind Morten Andersen with 546 points. He is viewed by coaches and teammates as a consummate professional and a great presence in the locker room. ... The 42-year-old veteran just keeps on kicking, in every sense of the word. He wrapped up his 20th NFL training camp Thursday and he's heading into his 17th NFL season. Carney has scored 1,634 points in his career and needs 78 more to become the league's fifth all-time leading scorer."

RE: Carney
I hate this guy. Never will I be able to forgive a guy who misses an extra point after a play like that one in JAX. Unbelievable. Not to mention he sucks now. He misses entirely too many momentum killing kicks from inside 50 yards. Oh wait, he can't even kick it more than 50 yards so that's about every kick he makes. This guy gives me indegestion and I hope Connor Hughes takes his place.

RE: Carney
hey deuce i swear to god i think last year or the year before he kicked like 2 or 3 over 50
|
RE: Carney
it was 2004 he was 2-3 from over 50. i couldn't beleive it.
doesn't mean i want him |
RE: Carney
I don't like Carney haters.
|
hate him or not, it looks like he will be around in '07! the real question is what about 08?
|
He will need a walker soon but still rates average. There are certainly teams with much worse kicking situations.
|
Cut em!
Hughes is younger with a leg of steel! |
I dont hate carney its just a scar.......... WIDE RIGHT !!!! ouch......... that hurts............. I cried on my living room floor........ lol it was painful..........
|
Haha nice AllSaints. It's not that hate him as a person, I hate him as a drive-killing, momentum-killing, game-losing kicker. His % of kicks made might be pretty good, but if you look at when he missed those kicks, they seemed to always be in pivotal moments of the games.
|
The way I look at it is that we didn't DESERVE to win that game versus the Jaguars. We were not playing like a playoff team. If we would have made the playoffs, we would have been embarassed in the first round. Maybe we had a couple of good plays, but we were not consistent enough. We were NOT a good team.
|
if I'm not mistaken the saints already cut Hughes like 2 or 3 days ago when they cut nine or so players
|
Hughs is history. so be it,
John is not a Mr, Clutch like Adam is, he is a colt. One thing that was said years ago, is true to this day, "Saints fans know there special teams" The broardcaster was asked why. his responce " It is all they have to cheer about" Sad but true. But it is also a good thing. We have had some of the best special teams play in the past 20 or so years. We are spoiled. Like sacks. another streak ended in 06, being average is harder to deal with than the losses. it takes away our silver lining on the storm clouds of a lossing season. John will do, till we get another Great Dane here in NO. |

What hurts the most is that All any 1 remebers from that game not the GREAT PLAY they all remeber WIDE RIGHT !!!! see if carney would have made that the river city relay would still be talked about TODAY but nope wide right oh thanx carney...... thanx for missing a extra FREAKIN POINT!!! |
already missed one in the first quarter
|
John Carney... you are the mother hfing man. I salute you. How you can keep your job season after season missing field goals and extra points amazes me. Thank goodness it's preseason.
|
