Cut Mike Mckeinze

ARE YOU KIDDING ME this guy is embarrasing flag flag flag OMG and he is suppose to be a #1 CB and a STARTER PLEASE !!!!

lynwood 08-26-2006 07:13 PM

RE: Cut Mike Mckeinze

I think it's a good sign when you need to create a penalty cause you get beat all the time that it's time for him to get cut or not start.

Play friggin better and don't get beat!!!

Rsanders24 08-26-2006 07:24 PM

RE: Cut Mike Mckeinze

Can we send Brees with him? :flush:

lynwood 08-26-2006 07:28 PM

RE: Cut Mike Mckeinze

Well manning has missed some wide but hasn't had an interception. Think Brees just needs as much playing time as he can get. He's not 100 percent yet. It will come.

Iron-Head 08-26-2006 07:29 PM

RE: Cut Mike Mckeinze

who should start in front of him?

Not satisfied PERIOD!

GoldRush26 08-26-2006 08:59 PM

RE: Cut Mike Mckeinze

He's got to be the worst starting CB in the NFL. I have never seen anyone so overhyped up get consistently owned by veteran and rookie WRs alike.

lynwood 08-26-2006 09:01 PM

RE: Cut Mike Mckeinze

Unless he picks it up this year I can see him gone next season and drafting a CB or Two.

AllSaints 08-26-2006 10:27 PM

RE: Cut Mike Mckeinze

It was pitiful just pitiful....... is he the AB of the Defense????

hagan714 08-26-2006 11:21 PM

RE: Cut Mike Mckeinze

:hallucinate: what is this a wake up call for my fellow posterd. He is a great #2 not a #1. reality check

RockyMountainSaint 08-27-2006 02:01 AM

REALITY CALLING!
Did MM get owned during the regular season last year?
I will answer this....
Not so much!
I was at EVERY open practice last year on Airline Dr.
MM openly joked about allowing young recievers the chance to make the team by beating him.
He has never been and may never be a great training camp player.
Mark my words.
He will not get owned like this in the Regular Season.
BTW, He was competing against arguably the best QB/WR tandem ever.
WWMMD?

gandhi1007 08-27-2006 02:06 AM

He's nothing more than a legit #2. We really need a shutdown #1 corner to bolster this secondary. There were several times in the last two games I had to take a double-take at McKenzie's jersey #, because the way he was getting beat it looked like Jason Craft. :?

There is no such thing as a "Shut-Down" CB.
The rules of the NFL are such that the offense is favored 110%
The key I think is to have a Defense that trusts each other.
They all know that they are on the same sheet of music,.
They are commited to win.
Check the egos at the door.
I will rant and rail during the season.
But SP was given a big S**t Sandwich to turn around.
Give it some time.

I may be out of line saying this because Im a first time poster on this site, but arent some of you over-reacting here a little bit. So chill....relax.....chillax, and take your finger off the panic button and try spot the players that can and will help this team when the games count.

Welcome to the nut house Brah!
You are not out of line at all.
All opinions are welcome here, especially the voice of reason you are advocating.
Understand though emotions are at a fever pitch it being the preseason and all.
If you are an M.D. you could help by writing some scrips for Vallium or whatever.
Hope to see you around here more.
Rocky

Hey Rocky, where's your AV?? Anyway, sounds like I missed a good game???? Who was it though that said cut Brees? My friend, in the immortal words of a famous rap group.."you need to check yo-self before you wreck yo-self  :drummer:

along 08-27-2006 06:15 AM

Our secondary is not the best in the league
and I feel it can be a lot better if we had anything
of a front seven. It's a proven fact...If the
QB can stand in the pocket and go through
he reads...there is not a damn thing any
secondary can do to stop a completion
99.9 percent of the time.

Did The Americans give up When the Germans Bombed Pearl Harbor?
TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!

LordOfEntropy 08-27-2006 07:32 AM

I thought it was the Russians that bombed Pearl Harbor.

McKenzie has always been a gambler. He bites on a lot of double moves, and spends too much time watching the QB's eyes at times, losing track of his man. I like a guy like that on the team simply because there will exist some big play ability, but with that said, you need a solid shutdown man to complement him. Your wild CB will have more success during checkdown reads when the QB reacts to something he thinks he sees. Jason Craft and Fred Thomas do not have it to be the other starting CB. We missed the boat this year in the FA secondary for sure. As much as I hate drafting CB's, we need to do so in the 1st or 2nd round next year and also grab the best FA as an early post season target.

LKelley67 08-27-2006 11:32 AM

welcome aboard soulstar. make yourself at home.

it was a pathetic mcK show but what is carier is when you say he is the best DB we have. LOL

it is more of a TOTAL defense lacking IMO.

My summary of this D would be two defensive ends, some good young safeties and nothing in between. McK isn't a turd but he isn't a #1 corner either. I agree with lummox.

It will be interesting to see what offseason moves are made in free agency and the draft next year. Anyone else notice that DeMeco Ryans is the starting MLB for Texas and that Abdul Hodge has been outplaying AJ Hawk in GB?

cajuntexcop 08-28-2006 02:49 AM

I love it Rocky..."thank you sir may I have another!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

shackney 08-28-2006 11:19 AM

Are you also a new N.O. fan? If so, get used to having a meltdown every day! Just kidding! Venting is a large part of being a Saints fan! I think this sight is just a way to get the Horse@#$! out of our systems! N.O. has many players that cause stress!

neugey 08-29-2006 04:37 AM

I'm hoping that this was just a bad game for Mackenzie. His coverage on Harrison wasn't really that bad - he was at least close enough to interfere on those plays. Harrison runs the best routes in the league, but Mac just needs to keep his composure and make the play, not the intentional foul. Speed and height-wise, I believe he matches up with Harrison well enough to win his fair share of battles.

hagan714 08-29-2006 08:31 AM

not like he got burned by a no body. relax he had his hands full the past 2 week and had some great passes to defend.

Euphoria 08-29-2006 11:26 AM

The problem is we are getting no pressure on the QB's, we can't stop the run. You can't send someone out there to cover a WR for a day and a half a play, the WR will eventually get open. Its a huge difference when you get to the QB's and the CB's have a shorter amount of time to concentrate on coverage and INT's. We needed to re-build our O'line and our D-line and we did NOTHING, we essentially have the same team as last year... so who you think we'll pick with the second pick in the draft.

hagan714 08-29-2006 11:29 AM

true enough. the safeties are still looking in on the run D to much.

Absolutely they are. Will Smith is a rising star, and Grant is going to have a great season. He was all over the field agains the Colts. He was stopping the run, pressuring Manning, jumping around like an Oompa Loompa on crack. I loved it.
