Javon Walker-Tell 'em how it is dawg

Broncos | J. Walker very happy to be out of Green Bay
Thu, 31 Aug 2006 05:09:41 -0700

Bill Williamson, of the Denver Post, reports after watching the Green Bay Packers play their preseason game Monday, Aug. 28, Denver Broncos WR Javon Walker is very happy to be away from the Packers and with the Broncos. "Obviously, we have a chance to be a Super Bowl team," Walker said Wednesday, Aug. 30. "Obviously, they have a chance to win four games." Walker said he'll still root for some Green Bay players, including CBs Al Harris and Charles Woodson, TE Bubba Franks and WR Robert Ferguson. "I love those guys, and I always want to see them do well," Walker said. "I want those guys to be successful."

That made me laugh for real.

Didja hear farve when they questioned him about the talent on the team? He really said "Whaddya want me to say?" LOL

-----and note ye who wanted him this past winter... Palmer made Woodson look worse than McKenzie. It was embarrassing.

So what will he say if Denver goes 7-9 and Green Bay goes 6-10? Or even more hilariously, if Green Bay somehow wound up with an equal or better record?

Javon's comments don't impress me at all. Just like I wasn't impressed when Keyshawn did it (Chrebet is a flashlight), and just like I wasn't impressed when Deion felt the need to say he "rarely wore his Super Bowl ring from San Francisco" sometime during his Dallas stint.

well it was a little cocky but it is funny. maybe he is a lot bitter because he got hurt after they wouldn't give him a different contract. can't blame him there. it is kinda funny to hear someone call it like it is though. um i would be very very very surprised to see them go 7-9. i think they are one of the best teams in the afc this year

I agree with you. I don't care what people say, that ish was funny. I wish more players blasted teams after they left if they had a tumultuous relationship with them. Screw 'em. We need more telling it like it is and no more of this pitty pat BS. Keep on talking Javon, i'll keep laughing.

Funny thing is, if the Raiders had a surprisingly good season and Aaron Brooks started bashing the Saints organization, everyone here would be up in arms. And with good reason. These athletes need to need to look to Jerry Rice as an example of how to handle things, not Terrell Owens.

Walker didn't bash anyone. What he said is simply the truth. Green Bay stinks. Their only saving grace is that they have a very soft schedule, and play in probably the worst division in football. Unfortunately, someone has to win the Norris.

Well he doesn't need to say "they have a chance to win 4 games" which is an obvious shot at the overall team, while following up with "oh but I want to see so-and-so do well, I wish them success". If he really wished them well, he'd keep his focus on the Broncos upcoming season and not bother with petty shots.

It's not a "shot". It's a valid assessment.
