so who is going to be the punter? I see weatherford on that list...something has to be wrong.
|
Wait, Mayberry and Polley???? More hits to the O-line and LBs.
|
Polley and Mayberry are still with us
They're on injured/reserve And if we did cut Polley we're stupid, should've kept Kuale, too |
I don't get some of these cuts-I mean, whose left at LB? also, didn't Davis (texas) go down with injuries-branch would have been decent trade bait for a pick. NOt sure I get this.

I will post them as they come across the wire. this is all so far a few to go,
|
how did bouman make it?
|
Bouman will get cut for Jacobs
Keep ur fingers crossed |
nothing. things are slowing down on the wire finally and we still need to drop a few players. at least the last cuts seem to be hard to make. Could they be working the phones on trades or see what new FA might want to come here before they make their moves?

how bout a bit of props for me being right? I hit you guys up with the first cut list and the guys targeted for the practice squad.

Any news on players the Saints are targeting from the cuts or anything about any trades (i.e. Edwards)? |
:itsgood:
|
Branch & Hass? I don't like those cuts. Surely Branch has proved to be a better backup RB than Stecker this pre-season. As for Hass......he's looked better to me than Lance Moore at least. Hopefully, we sign them to the practice squad.
|
The plan is to get Branch, Hass, Lyman, Kuale, Villareal, and McPherson onto the practice squad...the FO has next to no doubt that all the guys will clear waivers.
|
I'm officially confused by the cuts and keeps of this administration. Branch and Lay and Hass did admirably. Stecker? Bouman?? And what's more disturbing is that there are two key guys already out for the year in positions where the team can least afford them. Where are the O-line and LB signings? Did Payton officially give up for this year? Are they trying to make attendance dwindle out by the end of the season?
|
what signings are you looking for? The team just made 2 trades in the last 10 days to acquire LB's...what else do they need to do? they played the entire preseason without Mayberry...he would have been cut anyway. I think Payton has proven that he is not going to sit on any weaknesses...he is going to try and go out and get someone that can improve the team.

Why don't we let our team play a regular season game before all of "the sky is falling" talk starts. There will almost certainly be wheelings and dealings before the week 6 trade deadline. |

I hope they get Lay to the PS, he really played better than Phillips and Craft in my opinion Ghandi, why get rid of better Moore than not git rid of non-catching, fumbling Bethel....In my opinion, keep Moore and give Bethel the boot  :broccoli: |
