Browns DBs Ailing
The Browns head into Sunday's season opener with primary concerns in their secondary because almost all of the key defensive backs are banged up.
The first injury report of the season Wednesday looked more like roll call for a DB meeting: Cornerbacks Leigh Bodden and Gary Baxter have strained pectoral muscles. Both are listed as questionable, but participated in team drills Wednesday. Cornerback Daylon McCutcheon is out after arthroscopic knee surgery four weeks ago. Safety Brian Russell is doubtful after having a bursa sac removed from his elbow last week. Cornerback Antonio Perkins is questionable with a pulled groin muscle, but he practiced Wednesday. Coach Romeo Crennel said Bodden could've played in the preseason finale had it been a regular-season game. But he missed the final eight games of the 2004 season with a torn pectoral muscle. more... http://www.cleveland.com/browns/plai...l=2&thispage=2 Joe oughta be gettin non-stop double teams until the other receivers prove themselves. Hopefully that starts now. Long bombs to Devery and many first down catches by Colston. Of course at least 4 or more for Reggie. |
